Here's an update from my mom......

6/18/99
Dove is all settled in his new home. He got his second ivermectin shot on Thursday and the vet said he will need another one so to hold off on the
introductions until after that. His pinky bald spots from cutting mats out have soft, white fur now. I still need to remove the rest of his coat though.
I just did a little until he got more comfortable with us and his mite problem is gone. I can't wait until the ivermectin series is done and I can hold him and cuddle him more. He gets a lot of pets, but I am careful about too much contact with my clothes so that I don't transmit the mites to our
other animals.

He is allowing pets more and more and even tooth rattling some now. He is calming down about his food just a little and is starting to "savor" the
veggies for a few seconds between leaves. He still runs back and forth like crazy at food time waiting for his turn. He is very bony so I increased his
pellet ration a little. Tracy weighed him again at the vet's and he is 7 lbs. exactly. His body structure looks like he should be about 8.5 lbs.

His condo is big enough for him to binky in and he does little ones a lot. He has great litterbox habits. He likes to dig all the brown hay out of his
hay rack while he is searching for the green pieces into his litterbox and then it sticks to his angora fur and he drags it all over the condo. So I am
constantly reaching in and cleaning up his condo (and his butt) of hay. He also likes to flip his cardboard box into the litterbox - which blocks the
litterbox and the hay rack. Then he gives me a "mommy, I can't get to my hay or litterbox!" look and then pees on the box. So, I took the box out. He plays well with his toys and then deep sleeps on his side (awwww...) He looks so cute.

He seems to be the "favorite" living room bunny with the family as no one can resist stopping to talk to him and give him a pet as they walk through. Sean calls him "Pinky" because his eyes are pink. (He has nicknames for all the buns).

He will be introduced to Addie and Petunia when his ivermectin series is over. I am anxious to see how they will all get along. Hopefully Dove will have two ladies to live with - his own little HAREm :-)
