My Family Research Details:

MacQuarrie & MacArthur  (Probably Isle of Mull, Co. Argyll)

John MacQuarrie
John MacQuarrie was born  around 1787 in Argyllshire, Scotland, possibly on or near the Isle of Mull. He immigrated to DeSable, PEI sometime before 1815.

John married Flora (probably in PEI) and had several children. It is possible that her maiden name was also MacQuarrie, and that her parents were Alexander and Isabella (MacArthur) MacQuarrie who immigrated in 1806 and settled just west of DeSable.

Alexander MacQuarrie and Isabella MacArthur (Scalastle, Torosay Parish and Tobermory Parish)
Alexander and Isabella (MacArthur) MacQuarrie appear to have come from the parish of Torosay on the Isle of Mull in Argyllshire, Scotland.  I think they came from Scalastle (as best as I can read the parish register of the baptismal of several of the children).

They had at least 5 children born in Torosay Parish, Isle of Mull: Flora, born around 1793; Sarah, born 1795; John, born 1798; Sandy (possibly Alex), born 1800; and Margret, born 1802. Una (Winefred) was born in Torbermory, Isle of Mull, Scotland in 1806 just before they set sail for Canada.  They had one child born 1813 in PEI, Canada: Isabella.

MacKay  (Co. Sutherlandshire, Scotland)

William MacKay was from Sutherlandshire, Scotland (born about 1821).  He immigrated to New London, PEI, Canada in the 1840's and married Mary MacLeod in 1850.

They had the following children (all born in PEI, Canada):

MacLeod (Co. Inverness, Scotland)

Mary MacLeod MacKay was most likely born in Inverness County, Scotland (possibly Raasay or Isle of Skye). Mary immigrated to Darlington, PEI , Canada and married William MacKay of New London, PEI. Almost all of their children moved to Massachusetts, USA.

William MacLeod was a witness at Mary's wedding in 1850; William could be Mary's father or brother.

Jamieson (Glasgow, Co. Lanarkshire, Scotland)

Rachel Jamieson was born 1796 in Glasgow, Scotland. She was the daughter of Hugh Jamieson.

Hugh Jamieson had several brothers: John, Kenneth, and Robert, they all immigrated to Nova Scotia from Scotland. Hugh, John and Robert appear in the 1817 Guysborough County, NS Census.

Rachel married Samuel PEOPLES who was born around 1795 in Donegal, Ireland. They were probably married in Guysborough, Nova Scotia. They had four daughters and one son (Jannett, Martha and Catherine; the other children's names are unknown). Samuel and Rachel immigrated to Newburyport, MA around 1850 and then Maine.
