Ant, Giant
Level: 1 (2)
AS: 5 (10)
DS: 3 (8)
CS: N/A
TD: 3 (6)
HP: 30
Attacks (AS): 20
Speed: Medium
Location: Dark Cavern, Tunnels (W)
Skin: Ant pincer (25)
Description: The giant ant looks like a giant armored version of
a common ordinary ant. Its faceted eyes stare back at you with
apparent disinterest.
Notes: A few ants (approx 1 in 10) are actually second
level, and their stats are in parenthesis. A much less crowded
area than the catacombs, Ants are a just a little harder than
Rats, but the lack of other hunters competing for them more than
makes up for it. Some have Ant Larvae on them when searched which
can be sold at the Furrier's. Careful you don't get lost in their
twisting home. And remember, he's got high hopes.
Banshee*
Level: 55
AS: 330
DS: 185
CS: 250
TD: 195
HP: (?)
Crittable: N
Attacks (AS): Scream (Simultaneously warding every person in the
room, including those hidden or invisible. Failing by a little
results in a light stun, while failing by more than 20 or so
causes you to drop what you are carrying, and fall prone and
stunned, while the banshee instantly attacks you.
Hidden/invisible characters who successfully make the warding
roll will remain hidden or invisible, and if someone fails badly
enough that they stop, drop, an' roll, the banshee will cease
screaming. Banshees will sometimes instantly go invisible when
swung at, and will sometimes instantly raise their TD and
elemental DS by 100 when cast at. This defense can be dispelled
with 417
Speed: (?)
Location: Darkstone
Treasure: Nil
Description: Probably once a female wizard or sorcerer, this
horrible creature has been bound to life after death by some
horrible magic. Her rotting teeth, decaying flesh, and tattered
robes leave little evidence left of her original appearance.
Fading in and out of view, at times you can even see straight
through her to the other side!
Notes: You ever stay out way too late and NOT
call your wife or girlfriend to let them know where you are? Ever
come home that same night, smelling of liquor and perfume? How
did she react? Well, this is pretty much the same thing.
Women
cant live with em, cant banish them
to hell.
Beetle, Giant Fog

DS: 145
CS: n/a
TD: 96
Crittable: Yes
Attacks (AS): Fog Cloud
Skinnable: Giant Beetle Carapace (1000)
Treasure: No
Location: Broken Lands
Description: The giant fog beetle appears to be some sort of
giant insect. It looks a little like some misshapen scorpion, but
the tail on it is not as long as a scorpion's would be, and it
flares like the tail of a lobster rather than ending in a poison
sting. The segmented body is wide, supported by six short
multi-jointed legs. A dull red chitinous shell covers most of its
body, and a broad carapace protects its head. Two massive claws
provide the creature with formidable weapons.

Treasure: Yes
Location:Upper Trollfang
Description:A smaller relative of the basilisk, the cockatrice
has a serpentine body, with feathered head, wings, and legs.

cockatrice should not be treated lightly. A sharp beak and raking
claws complete this small but deadly package of evil.
Notes:
Crab, Pale
Level: 2
AS: 15
DS: 24
CS: N/A
TD: 6
Crittable: Yes
Attacks (AS):
Skin: Pale Crab Pincer (25)
Treasure: No
Location: River's Rest, sea tunnels
Description:The giant pale crab is about a foot across and has
large pincers at the end of each of its two arms. Its multiple
legs make a skittering noise as it walks. The pale color seems to
be the result of living in dark, wet caves for its entire life.
Notes:
Crocodile
Level: 6
AS: 80
DS: 40
CS: n/a
TD: 18
HP: (?)
Attacks: Bite (80), Charge (70)
Speed: (?)
Location: River's Rest, Zoo
Skin: Crocodile snout (75)
Description: A large scaled lizard, with a wide gaping mouth full
of sharp teeth, it has short powerful legs barely long enough to
lift the beast off the ground. The crocodile also has a long
powerful tail that looks rather dangerous
Notes:
Darkwoode*
Level: 13
AS: 100
DS: 70
HP: 210
Location: Darkstone, Sentoph,
Attacks (AS): Swing (100), Major Shock (90), Tremors, Wind
Speed: Medium (?)
Description: A skeletal tree-trunk with long straggling branches,
the darkwoode holds the unliving force of a once sentient
tree-spirit. An unfelt breeze seems to stir the dead and decaying
leaves that still cling to it, giving it a travesty of the beauty
it once held as a living tree. Given its original form long ago
to protect sacred groves, it remains now, warped and twisted, yet
still attempting to carry out the duties it failed in long ago.
Notes:
Dirge, Death*
Level: 9

Speed: (?)
Location: River's Rest, Citadel, outside
Skinnable: Blood red eagle feather (90)
Description: With a body length of nearly 3 feet, and a wingspan
of 8 feet, a blood eagle is without a doubt, the biggest eagle
you've ever seen. The body is covered with brown and black
feathers. The powerful wings raise dust whenever the eagle nears
ground. Large black eyes gleaming intelligently at you and a
claws sharp enough to rip apart a bear give this creature a
distinctly threatening appearance.
Notes: My understanding is, the larger races have an
easier time against the manuever attack than smaller races such
as halflings and elves.
Eagles, The
Level: The 70's
AS: 26
DS: 40
CS: n/a
TD: 69
Attacks (AS): Drums (26), Vocals (2), Acoustic (?)

Figure, Hooded
Level:30-35
AS:178
DS:140-225
CS:150/175
TD:150-205
HP: ?
Crittable: Yes
Attacks (AS): Figures are high level wizards, sorcerers, or
rangers, and have access to any of the spells available to these
professions. They are not multi-class creatures, so will only
have access to the spell lists of one of the three. The most
common offensive spells they use are Elemental Blast, Elemental
Wave, Elemental Strike, Mana Disrupt, Cone of Lightning, and the
various single target Elemental aimed spells available to
Wizards. They have no prep time on their spells. They appear
already spelled up with all the defensive spells available to
their profession.
Location: Broken Lands, IM Abandonned Farm
Treasure:Yes
Description:It is hard to see much of the hooded figure because
of the voluminous hooded cloak. However, the figure does appear
to be that of of a young human, or humanoid, male. His skin is
very pale, almost an opalescent white in color and his eyes are
an ominous dull grey. You can see a few locks of curly black hair
streaked with stark white tufts concealed by the hood of his
cloak. When he glances in your direction, you can feel his gaze
almost as a physical blow. He holds himself erect, a tall and
imposing figure giving evidence of great pride.
Notes: Rich! Rich! You'll be a happy miser! Or just
plain dead...
Firephantom*
Level: 6
AS: 60

Notes: Usually not too crowded in ye old ghost area.
Ghoul, Greater*
Level: 3
AS: 40
DS: 20
HP: 60
Location: GY
Attacks (AS): Claw (40)
Speed: Medium (?)
Description: Larger and meaner than its lesser brethren, the
greater ghoul shambles along with its filth-encrusted claws and
ragged bits of decaying flesh hanging from sharp fangs in its
decaying jaws. A few filthy bits of rotting cloth still cling to
its diseased and festering body as it wanders dimly in more
search for flesh.
Notes: Not bad hunting for those years 2 to 6. After
that, one should switch to Dirges or Mummies, or if one is
particularly gifted, Werebears, Darkwoodes and Wraiths. They lurk
abouts the Dirge area, so make good supplemental prey for
treasure, favor and subsistance experience.
Ghoul, Lesser*
Level: 1
AS: 10
DS: 5
HP: 60
Location: GY
Attacks (AS): Claw (20)
Speed: Slow
Description: Resembling a decaying corpse more than anything
else, the lesser ghoul is hunched over so that its long arms
trail along the ground. Sharp claw-like nails tip both hands and
feet and the stench of corruption wafts thickly from the sodden
rags of clothing that cling to its leprous body. Strings of
gnawed flesh will drop from the creature's loose-lipped mouth as
it continues to chew on something better left unknown, usually
some other hapless adventurer.
Notes: Good hunting for young disciples of Voln, from
levels 1-3. At level 4, you should be able to adequately hunt
greater ghouls and the like, although the Lesser Ghoul will still
provide you with ample experience and favor.
Giant, Skeletal*
Level: 12
AS: 120
DS: 40
HP: 290
Location: Sentoph
Attacks (AS): Pound (120), Flail (110)

Skin: Giant Bone (45)
Treasure: Yes
Description: One would assume a large, skeletal...giant.
Notes: Are you a warrior or rogue of level 10? Have you
been training in Hiding and Ambush? Are you in Voln? If you
answered Yes to all the above questions, then WHY are you not
hunting Skeletal Giants?

Goblin
Level: 2
AS: 40

Speed: Medium
Description: Round-headed with a squat nose and a wide mouth, the
goblin has greenish skin with a sickly yellow cast over all.
Roughly as tall as a dwarf or halfling, the goblin moves with a
nervous energy but rarely looks directly at you. A yeasty smell
as of molding bread or of something left to rot in a dark damp
place completes the goblin's aura of repulsivenss.
Skin: Goblin Skin (35)
Treasure: Yes.
Notes: Suprisingly dangerous in the Graveyard for
youngins... be careful, those flails have a killer AvD.
Gremlin, Nasty
Little
Level: 6
AS: 50
DS: 90/45
CS: n/a
TD: 10
Crittable: Yes
Attacks (AS): Tackling (Gremlins will jump up on you, and try to
knock you down before attacking), Stealing (They will rummage
through yer stuff and steal goodies. Stealing causes their DS to
drop, and if you kill the gremlin, you get the item back.)
Skinnable: No
Treasure: Yes
Location: Twin Canyons
Description: The gremlin is a small furless creature with beady
little eyes and sharp teeth that have been filed into triangular
fangs. It has long, metal capped, nails protruding several inches
from the tip of each finger. Though humanoid in form, it has a
natural facial expression that is as wicked as any other known to
nature.
Note: Unless distracted by
food, gremlins will attempt a Tackling or Stealing attack.
Sometimes you can throw them to the ground while avoiding their
attack. They like wands, gems, jewellery, and herbs, which they
can remove from even closed containers. When a gremlin gets
something it thinks is valuable, it fussily stashes it in its
loot sack, which can later be found on its dead body. If a
gremlin successfully steals from you and gets away, it will hide
the item in one of two places in the area. Searching those areas
returns the item, but runs the risk of disease for one location
and injury for another. These nasty little creatures come in
black, blue, green, orange, red, and yellow, but vary in little
else besides color.
Guardian, Fire
Level:
AS:
DS:
CS:
TD:
Crittable:
Attacks (AS):
Skin:
Treasure:
Location:
Description: A towering mass of flame and smoke formed into a
caricature of a living being, the fire guardian is awesome to
behold. The fumes of endless burning and the fierce heat serve
this foul thing as well as any armor made by mortal; and the
power of its flame has fused even the finest vultite shields to
the hands of their wearers and turned mighty swords into dripping
stubs of molten alloy.
Notes: Mean creatures... but they make a great creme
brulee!
Hobgoblin
Level: 3
AS: 50
DS: 25
HP: 60
Location: Hobs, GY
Attacks (AS): Swing (50)
Speed: Medium
Description: This is a large humanoid creature, similar to its
smaller cousin the goblin. It has a snub nose with a wide mouth
with large and very sharp teeth and a greenish-yellow, leathery
skin. Reputed to be uncommonly fond of collecting treasure, these
are among the most hunted beings that exists. but many are the
whitening skulls that adorn the crude dwellings of the hobgoblin,
for treasure is not all they collect
Notes: Excellent hunting for most under 9 trainings.
Good treasure.
Giant Icecube
Level: 3
AS: 30
DS: 25
HP: 60
Location: Hobs, GY
Attacks (AS): Brain Freeze, Soak (30)
Speed: Slow
Description: This mutant chunk of frozen water lurks about the
glaciers of Elanthia, the tumblers of Helga's, and the overactive
imagination of the keeper of these archives. Look, there
isn't anything beginning with the letter "I", okay?
Notes: Good for a refreshing beverage.
Initiate , Sheruvian
Level: 41
AS: 240
DS: 195
CS: 222
TD: 171
AvD: 35

Perception: Unknown
Undead: NO
Crittable: Average
Skinnable: NO
Treasure: YES
Location: Sheruvian Monestary Spider Temple
Spells: Living rune, Mind Jolt...among many more.
Abilities: Seems that they can drain spirit randomly, this cannot
always be warded against. They can tend their own wounds, and
also pray to Sheru to renew their blood loss. They shake off
stuns and can wake their brethren from stuns and calms, and are
immune to cold. They can raise AS ( 50) by bellowing.
Description: It is hard to tell if the Sheruvian initiate is
human, or some foul spawn of inhuman parents. The head of the
warrior-monk has been shaved smooth and is covered in dark,
mystic runes tattooed on its scalp. A heavy brow hangs low over
its cold, calculating eyes that bore through you as the Sheruvian
initiate sneers at you.
Notes: Items dropped by an Initiate (ie. sword, shield, armor
etc) are cursed.
Jumping Jacks? Jamiroquai? Seriously... how about some Jackals? Not the bad Bruce Willis remake either.
Kobold
Level: 1
AS: 10
DS: 10
CS: n/a
TD: 3
Attacks (AS): Short Sword, Javelin
Speed: Medium
Location: Lower Dragonsclaw, Forest; Kobold village; Mine Road;
Wehnimer's, exterior; Icemule Trace, exterior
Skinnable: Kobold Skin (25)
Description: Smaller than a dwarf or even many halflings, it has
ruddy skin and a hairless pate topped with small horns.
Long-limbed for its size, the kobold eschews any display of brute
strength and relies on what agility it pretends to have. The
kobold stares back at you with beady little black eyes, sizing
you up as a foe.
Notes: Uniquely unintelligent, kobolds have been known to
run into each other, fight each other, fight themselves, trip
adventurers, and a myriad of other enviable activities. They also
occasionally wander past the guards into town. Please... don't
get killed by a kobold. Its just... well, its just horribly
embarassing.

Ghoul Master stands with a cold bearing of command or power.
Tattered rags of velvet and silk drape the corrupt form and a
keen light of evil will and force dominates the ruined face now
rotting and festered. The aura of its power tingles along your
nerves and brings a cold sweat to your brow as you gaze into its
eyes, now vacant, which seem to stare at you with cruel disdain.
Notes: They have a tendency to swarm in their solitary
mound in the GraveYard. But the double chain they wear under the
tatters of their garments is valuable to the collector.

weighed down by some heavy chains which cover its entire body.
The sight of its obvious torment tears at your soul.
Notes: Alright, ALRIGHT already... I KNOW its supposed
to be a Ghost Horse with chains. I had forgotten that, and
couldn't get the image of a big teddy bear with fangs out of my
head. I'm working on the horsey.
Shouldn't we have something like a Banshee Queen? Or a Wasp, Bee or Ant Queen? Or perhaps a Flaming Queer? Something?!? How about a wandering Don Quixote?

Spells: NO
Abilities: YES Occasionally break bind/stuns/etc. Immune to cold.
Description: The reiver stands tall and proud. Moss-green eyes
dominate the strong face and tousled, dark hair crowns the head.
The reiver is well-muscled and toned, with calloused hands used
to the wielding of weapons. Forged by a hard history and a harsh
climate, the reiver is a tough fighter with a sense of honor and
duty. Normally calm and amiable, the reiver's visage is
thunderous when kith and kin are threatened or there are krolvins
lurking.
Notes: Reivers wear double chain, augmented chain, chain hauberk,
or half plate, hence the variation in AvD and CvA.

Rolton
Level: 1
AS: 15
DS: 0
HP: 35
Location: Wehnimers, RR
Attacks (AS): Bite (20)
Speed: Slow
Description: A domestic variety of this giant sheep can be seen
in peaceful herds on the hills and mountainsides. But when left
to run wild, this creature can become quite savage, and can even
become carnivorous. A four-footed animal the size of an ox,
covered with a thick dirty fleece matted with twigs and thorns,
it opens wide a startlingly cavernous mouth lined with a stunning
array of teeth. Its thick and sturdy legs are tipped with a set
of claws that could easily disembowel the unwary who tried to
make light of this wild creature.
Notes: Dont embarrass yourself by being killed by
a large sheep. Please.

Spells:n/a
Abilities:n/a
Skinnable:No
Treasure:Yes
Location:Spider Temple, outside
Description:Originally human, the dedicated servants of Arachne
long to surrender their mortal form for that of their
eight-legged deity. Dressed in a mockery of clerical robes, they
affect false padding and clever constructions to assume, however
poorly, an arachnoid shape. Ludicrous though this mummery seems,
no one laughs at their power or their very real menace, or the
brooding tales of those whose transformations have gone far
beyond mere costume. Dark tales are whispered of what may lurk
beneath the robes of the more advanced servants when they are
stripped away in death and decay.
