Square Dance Action is a computer program which animates the square dance calls. The current version of the software requires a Macintosh computer, Mac II or later, using System 7.0 or later. Square Dance Action will work with any 68030 or faster Mac but works best with a Power Mac. Square Dance Action is designed to be used by both dancers and callers. Unlike some existing programs which have the choreos "snap" to their final positions, the figures in Square Dance Action move across the screen with a smooth, continuous animation. Square dance calls can be executed either by the use of menus or by typing the name of the call. For those with limited typing skills, any unique abbreviation will also work. The program also has a choreo mode during which all of the calls are recorded for future playback. You may also copy the list of recorded calls to an external file which may be viewed and/or printed by a word processor. Other options include varying the animation speed; stop action, during which the dancer figures will stop after each frame is drawn, and pause, which stops the action after each part of a call. When combined with the replay last feature, this can be very instructive for learning/teaching purposes. The current version of the program does all of the calls from Mainstream through Advanced (A1/A2). *************** Satisfied user comments: ******************* "Without a Doubt, this is a very fine program" W.F.K.
