キューバの製糖工場専用線には、2'-3.5", 2'6", 3" そして標準軌(4'-8.5")の4種の軌間があります。各機関車には、国家砂糖省（MINAZ：Ministerio
de la Industria Azucarera）による全国統一ルールによる４桁の番号が付けられています。この番号のうち上2桁は、軌間や車軸配置に関係なく機関車出力の区分を示し、出力が小さい方から1101〜、1201〜・・・・1901〜の9グループに区分されています。一部のナローの機関車は数字の前に

今なお200輌を数えるキューバの製糖工場の現役蒸気機関車たちの中から、筆者が独断で代表的・特徴的と思うものを選んでみました。
In Cuban sugar industry, there are rail systems with 27-1/2", 30",
36" and Standard gauge lines. Now each working steam locomotive has
a 4 digit road number assigned by MINAZ (Ministerio de la Industria Azucarera,
Cuban Sugar Industory Ministry).
Here are a few examples of some 200 working steam working survivors in
Cuba, selected by the author.
