I understand this page show me the information!
About This PageFirst of all this page admits to being biased. In my personal experience with Oracle I have found there to be at least two sides of the story. The one you hear from them and the one that isn't often heard (duh!) or is at least hard to find. In the spirit of the web I felt it was time to make sure others had a centralized repository where the other opinions can be heard.
Believing in the importance of "checks & balances" it is the goal of this page to provide a "check & balance" for information that comes from the excellent marketing machine that is Oracle (I'm not being sarcastic I mean that as a compliment). This will include highlighting contradictions in messages coming from the company (e.g. release date slips, quotes that were later contradicted by actions, etc...)
Please note this page is biased BUT it has a set of guiding principles:
1. The author of this page will not make editorial comment but merely provide this page as a place to aggregate links to stories that help to give a more complete picture of Oracle the company and the technology (in my humble opinion). If you disagree there are many sources of further information to balance the information on the web and I encourage you to find them. You shouldn't just believe this page without conducting full research and forming your own opinions. Again this page does not pretend to give a balanced story but I feel that the story that is out there currently is not fully balanced to begin with so this is neccessary!
2. In spite of the bias of the page I feel it is important to provide links only to mainstream press and analyst reports publicly available on the web. This type of reporting has more credibility than an individual gripe (I know as I am one of the "individual gripers") and I don't want this page to be "whiny", just informational. It is for this very reason that the author will not make any editorial contributions.
3. This site will not reproduce any content but will merely link to other publicly available content.
Please note that if you disagree with this information please take up your issues with the writers of the stories that this page links to. I didn't write the stuff you see here I just collected it for others' convenience.
If you have the URL of any other stories you think help balance the picture then please submit that web address to me at the email link below.
If you would like to gripe about experiences you have had with Oracle please feel free to email them to me BUT ALSO NOTE that I will not post them to this site. However that doesn't mean you shouldn't submit them to the authors of the articles linked to this site. They are always looking for a good story and it might provide a nice avenue to vent your frustration.
Regardless I love to hear a good story. I am sure I'm not alone out here.
