STUDEBAKER EMPLOYEES

No record of the companys facilities would be complete without mention of the thousands of loyal Studebaker employees who have served long and faithfully. They constitute an asset enjoyed by few large manufacturers.

Studebaker has nearly 21,000 employees, here in South Bend.   These employees average slightly more than 39 years in age.  Their average period of employment with the company is approximately 8 1/2 years. Studebaker is proud of these records for they bespeak mature, stable men and women of experience, skill and efficiency.

Most of them are heads of familites - . - solid, responsible, home.owning citizens . . . among whom are many leaders in civic affairs. The backgrounds of nearly all are firmly rooted in the St. Joseph Valley area. Hundreds of them have virtually "grown up in the business." Their fathers, and often their grandfathers, are or were Studebaker men.

Such an enviable record produces craftsmanship and excel lent employee relations.  The unexcelled quality of Studebaker products year after year attests to that craftsmanship.    Through its long history (since 1852) Studebaker has never had a major labor disturbance - a record indicative of the employee loyalty and outstanding employee-management relationship found at Studebaker.

Numbered among Studebaker employees are many father and son teams which have had nationwide recognition.  Truly Studebaker is one big, happy family . . . working in unison to "give customers more than is promised."  On that precept of  the company's founders,  Studebaker has grown to be an honored and respected name in the field of transportation.
