John came to Hing. ab. 1650 and in 1656 had land granted to him in the south part of town.
Whether he was a connection of the early Garners, or Gardners of Boston is uncertain, as but little information has come down to us relating to his early history. The christian name of his wife, whom he m. at Boston Apr. 10 1651, was Mary. She survived him, and m. secondly, June 18, 1669, Nathaniel Chubbuck. John d. 24 Nov. 1668.
The inventory of his estate was appraised by John Tower and John Ripley, 28 April 1669, at £44, 11s. and included "the Goats that have been sold to pay debts and maintain the family." Wife Mary administrix.

His wid. m. in June1669, Nathaniel Chubbuck, says the rec. and Mary, perhaps a d. m. 5 Dec. 1683, Nathan Farrow. I suppose he had a s. also, John, d. Joanna, and STEPHEN, w. m.
