This is Sunny's page dedicated to contemporary esoterica. I am interested in various aspects of twentieth-century fringe thinking, in particular that brand of thought called Chaos Magick. Whilst I would not go so far as to label myself a chaotician, I do find many of the ideas of this postmodern magickal praxis interesting to say the least. I am in the process of transferring my writings on magick to the net - it may be here in future updates.
I have had the fortune of gaining access to the Yorke Collection of Crowley material at the Warburg Institute for an essay I wrote in 1994. This unpublished essay, "The Early Poetry of Aleister Crowley" was based on work he did in the years prior to 1900, and included some examinations of rare unpublished material. I have decided, perhaps unethically and maybe unfairly, to make available some of these unpublished poems to the Internet. You may check out these unpublished Aleister Crowley poems, but please heed the copyright notice attached to them. Although the 5,000 word essay that I produced has not been published, I am in the process of making certain extracts available on the net, especially as it aids the understanding of the unpublished Crowley material given. In the not-too-distant future, expect to find extracts here.

In 1996, for some research done at Cambridge University, I wrote a 7,500 dissertation on the Life and Works of Austin Osman Spare. This is, to my knowledge, the first academic study of Spare's written work to date. Some of the ideas I explored included Spare's Sigils and Performative Language-Magic and Spare's Death Posture as a proto-Surrealist anticipation of Salvador Dali's critical paranoia.
