Hi, there, and Welcome to the Grouse Tales& Bird Dogs 98/99 Season!

Started out by doing a little goose hunting, that resident season isn't all that much fun, but I enjoyed it. Did some dove hunting but they weren't flyin'. Not a very good season for dove as far as I can tell. This Sat. our season is open. Everybody is aloud in the woods for some unknown reason? Went to Canada and did alittle bird hunting in late Sept. Woodcock and grouse were there and it turned out to be the best bird trip to date.I have a couple new recipes you can look up if you'd like? Soon to report on Pa. flushes.

Started out going out and doing a little pheasent hunting on opening day. But I must have went to place they didn't stock. So I went to the Pocono's for 2 hours of grouse hunting. I flushed about 5 birds but they were a little faster then me that day.

Got out on Monday myself and two friends, we kicked up about 20 birds and I got One flyin cross the logging path. He was hit to good not much for a meal and for the first time ever my dog(Ben) came back with feathers in his mouth and we couldn't find the bird. We looked for an hour but nothing. Not to happy about that. Tues. we were skunked and only flushed 6 birds. We should have had two at least. As far as I can tell flush count looks about the same as last year.

Weds. went out for an hour. Flushed 2 grouse got 2 shouts off but didn't expect for it to fly right out in the open. The wings sounded big comin' out that pine tree. We also flushed 3 woodcock 1.
