Philosophy for Children (P4C) is a curriculum aimed at fostering creative and critical thinking for children. The P4C Program, developed by Mathew Lipman of the Institute for the Advancement of Philosophy for Children at Montclair State College in New Jersey, has been incorporated into a great number of education curricula around the globe. The P4C program was introduced to Hawai'i over a decade ago and serves as the model for the Philosophy in the Schools Project. The project is funded in part by the State of Hawai'i Department of Education and operated through the Philosophy Department at the University of Hawai'i-Manoa
