Hail, noble adventurers! This is my world and welcome to it :) First off, I'd just like to let you know what this world is and what I expect from each of you who join.
The place:Valley of Grayvale, in the
Kingdom of Palantra, world as yet unnamed by it's primitive occupants; the time: the "age of darkness", where strife abounds and magic (dark and otherwise) exists for those brave enough to find it.
We've all read enough fantasy novels to have some idea of what types of characters are out there. Be creative, but please stay away from super-characters! The appeal of this genre (to me, anyway) is to see how an otherwise ordinary person can aspire to achieve extraordinary goals. And teamwork is a magic all it's own, with prizes only it can achieve. ;) I will work with you to flesh out characters if you need it. I plan to set the storyline somewhat (at least concerning non-player characters), but you will all be able to do that, as well, where it concerns your own characters. Any fantasy race is accepted, so long as the race doesn't bestow any super-ablities. So start sending me those character ideas (Knight, Archer
, Wizard, Priest, Thief, Beast-Master, Barbarian
, Bard, etc.) and together we can explore the limits of this realm.
Places of Interest:
Palantra -- kingdom ruled by King Tristaran.
Grayvale -- small duchy, within kingdom of Palantra.
Icewind -- village in need, near northern border of Grayvale.
Brass Dragon -- busy tavern in the towne of Grayvale.
Magna -- towne north of Grayvale, last suspected direction of imposter's travels.
Megalos -- city of Ceredyne's birth, ruled by the superstitious King, Diophrates XII.
Moonsea -- region within the Royal Elven Kingdom, and Rorik's homeland.
Bolten / Holstien -- native lands of Dianna, and host of the infamous Gladitorial games.
Icesicle -- Inn within the village of Icewind.
Descriptions of secret organizations :
The Circle is a group of assassins who see themselves as a force of and for nature. They take themselves very seriously and see themselves as a law above other political law-givers. They, however, do not act unless they deem it necessary, being Druid-like in their policies of environmental issues, and non-interference in most cases. They each wear a mark somewhere on their skin to identify them. Once in the circle, there is no leaving it, and they are very choosy about who they ask to join.
The Harper's Guild is an organization of high respect, consisting of honorable bards and some rangers. They act as information gatherers for the elven kingdom that created them and many times, also work for the Circle
. They wear a distinctive silver (mythral) ring that identifies them to each other and their allies.
