Sphynx as a
Breed
Although the obvious lack of hair and large elf like ears are what most people
first notice about the Sphynx breed, anyone getting to know them personally
will be more apt to remember them for their wonderful, affectionate
personalities. Sphynx have been described as being part monkey (because
of their silly attention getting antics), part child (for their unsurpressable
need to wrap their arms around you and smother you with kisses), part dog
(as they trot along behind you wagging their tails), and part cat (elegant,
graceful, and purrrfectly feline). Sphynx are
sweet,
loving, and will do backflips or even hang upside down in their unending
attempts to get your attention. Their wrinkly little bodies are quite
warm and covered with a fine down which makes them irresistible to touch.
The feel of a Sphynx reminds me of the muzzle of a horse, quite cuddly
indeed. (A fact they won't let you forget!) Because of their
lack of hair Sphynx require very little grooming. A weekly bath, ear
cleaning, and nail trim will keep them looking and feeling wonderful and
soft. The Sphynx is one of the rarest domestic cats in the world and
kittens are in very limited supply. Prior reservation is highly recommended.
