United Doberman Club and Doberman Pinscher Club of America

Hello, My name is Tess Lynch and I have owned Doberman Pinschers since 1984. In that time I have become somewhat passionate about the breed, and the performance events they can compete in.

I am a member of Twin County Schutzhund Club and a member of Northwest Disaster Search Dogs. In addition I am a member of Top Dog and agility dog club, and Nisqually Kennel Club. Warning getting a Doberman and getting involved in dog sports is addictive and can take over your life.

Currently I own two Doberman Pinschers, they are:

Bella Bella
Born 12/24/92
Red Oak's Belmont
SchH A, French Ring Brevet
CDX, NA, NAC, NJC, NGC, NAJ
JHD-s, WH, AD, CGC, WAC, TT
OFA Hips - Good, Elbows Clear,
vWD 131%
CERF Clear at 4 years,
Thyriod Normal (Michigan) at 4 years
1 AKC Open Agility Leg
1/2 NADAC Open Leg

Bella's Pedigree

Bella had three Echocardiographic evaluations from May 1996 to May 1997. She received three different results. The first placed her as being in the equivocal category for Cardiomyopathy. The second diagnosis was that she was developing Cardiomyopathy. The third done in May of 1997 showed a normal heart with no evidence of Cardiomyopathy.

At this point I am still unsure of the actual condition of her heart.

Ares Ares
Born 6/11/97
Ares Vom Kamau,
NA, B, AD, CGC, HCT-s, 1 NAJ leg
CERF Clear, vWD Carrier (DNA), Thyriod Normal

Ares' Pedigree

Additionally I have had the pleasure of owning two wonderful Doberman Pinschers: TJ's Demon of the Knight, CD, CGC (picture to follow as soon as I can get one scanned), and the love of my life:

Since you've come to this page and are still reading, you must be interested in the breed. If you are looking for a puppy, or for information on the breed, I strongly encourage you to contact the
Doberman Pinscher Club of America and the United Doberman Club. Both these clubs are excellent resources and have many good breeders
to choose from.

If you are not sure if the Doberman Pinscher is the right breed for you check out Is the Doberman the right breed for me? The Doberman is a working breed and not for everyone, it's better to do the research now then get a puppy and find out you have made a mistake.

If you know you want a Doberman, but a puppy is not necessarily a requirement please consider adopting a "rescue" Doberman. For a listing
of some of the rescue organizations go here. International Doberman Rescue Directory.
One other great resource for Doberman Information is the e-mail list DoberWorld-L

A word of warning, I do not endorse the breeding or selling of "White Doberman Pinschers", nor the selling or breeding of "Oversize Doberman Pinschers", that are incorrectly called "Kings", "Gladiators", or "Warlocks". Information on The "White" Doberman and Operation White Out can be found here.

I strongly support the UDC in their efforts to reduce the genetic problems in the Doberman Pinscher through their "Test and Tell" program. This is why all the health results both good and bad are listed on this page. For more information on genetic health tests try these links: OFA Home Page, VetGen, and CERF.

I also support the concept of the "Total Doberman" as promoted by the UDC. To me a "Total Doberman" is one who is equally at home in the Conformation ring, on the sport field (be it Schutzhund / French Ring, Obedience, Agility, Herding, Flyball, or Tracking ), as a Service Dog (in Search And Rescue, Guiding the Blind, or as a Police Dog), and first and formost as a Family Pet.
Lastly here are a couple of links that I find very useful: Welcome to the AKC (good for finding trial and show dates as well as general AKC information) and Cindy Tittle More's Dog Page (in my opinion the most complete dog information page on the web).

Looking for more Doberman links? Try the Dobots homepage. They have a great list of links to choose from.I hope you have enjoyed my home page and found these links interesting.

Special thanks go to Karen Bostwick who took most of the pictures of my dogs on this page and the subpages. And to Brian Bunko who scanned all these pictures for me even though he is NOT a Doberman Pinscher person. He is a GSD person and his dogs can be seen at Brian Bunko's home page.

Let me know what you think about my page. Send mail by clicking here.
