Therapeutic Benefits of
Vibration and Tonal Therapy with the Cello
The
Cello has long been known as the closest instrument to the Human voice.
The cello's size and reverberating chamber produce tones that freely
resonate with the human body and provide overtones and undertones that
resonate sympathetically with all aspects of the body. Its higher and
purer tones tend to create a type of additional sympathetic resonance
which reverberates into deeper levels of the human psyche or outer
reaches of the energy field. Its lower tones give one the feeling of
sinking and deep relaxation. In Tonal and Vibration Therapy it is
important to include silence or a drone between the tones and
vibrations. This allows the body time to "remember" the vibrations,
taking in the information it needs. The body is "hearing" as a whole,
not just with the ears. The Cello also is very flexible in how it can
manipulate a tone and vibration, just as a massage therapist
manipulates the tissues and muscles during a massage..
The
Healing Cello techniques of Tonal and Vibration Therapy have shown
results indicating that tissue and emotional releases can accelerate
the healing process up to three times faster while working together
with other modalities. These modalities include:
| * CranioSacral Therapy |
* Acupuncture and Acupressure |
| * Yoga |
* Aromatherapy |
| * Bioenergetics |
* Breath Work |
| * Channeling |
* Crystal Therapy |
| * Deep Emotional Release Bodywork |
* Energy Balancing |
| * Feldenkrais Method |
* Guided Imagery |
| * Lymphatic Drainage |
* Meditation |
| * Polarity Therapy |
* Psychic Healing |
| * Qi Gong |
* Reiki |
Letters
from Ms. Byrd's patients regarding their response to cello tonal and
vibration therapy and use of Healing Cello CD.
Dear Liz,
My son is a 5-year-old non-verbal autistic. The
therapist who does his cranio-sacral work played your CD for him and he
actually moved her hands to the part
of the body that was being worked on by the music. We
were really amazed by how in tune his body seemed to
be with the music. He would even make humming noises
to imitate the sounds. She suggested that I might
want to get a tape to play at home to help with his
therapy. We hope that this can make a wonderful
difference in his progress. I thank you for devoting your
time to this endeavor. I believe it will be instrumental in
helping many people.
Wishing you much luck and happiness.
Lydia
Dear Lydia,
I have been lucky to work with many autistic
children at the Upledger clinic. I have found that they love to do just
as you say, "Imitate the cello". I usually carry on a whole
conversation back and forth, me playing to their voice and theirs to my
cello. The cello in a sense becomes their friend. I believe this type
of communication reaches their very core of consciousness, which is so
exciting and so comforting to them and to you!
Thank you so much for sharing your sons progress.
Please keep me informed. Liz
Therapeutic Benefits of
CranioSacral Therapy
CranioSacral
Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on
method of evaluating
and enhancing the function of the craniosacral system and the
physiological
body system comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that
surround
and protect the brain and spinal cord. CST
enhances the body's natural healing processes to improve the operation
of the central nervous system, dissipate the negative
effects of stress,
enhance health and strengthen resistance to disease. The method
generally
requires only five grams of pressure, the equivalent weight of a
nickel, to test for restrictions in various parts of the craniosacral
system.
Often the evaluation alone will help solve the presenting problem.
Among
the medical conditions for which CranioSacral Therapy has shown to be
effective
are:
| * Migraine Headaches |
* Traumatic Brain and Spinal Cord
Injuries |
| * Chronic Neck and Back Pain |
* Emotional Difficulties |
| * Motor-Coordination Impairments |
* Stress and Tension-Related
Problems |
| * Central Nervous System Disorders |
* Temporomandibular Joint |
| * Orthopedic Problems Dysfunction
(TMJ) |
* Scoliosis |
| * Chronic Fatigue |
* Infantile Disorders |
| * Neurovascular or Immune
Disorders |
* Autism |
| * Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder |
* Learning Disabilities |
| * Fibromyalgia and other
Connective- Tissue Disorders |
* Post-Surgical Dysfunction |
