In 1920, he, at age 54, was living in Linn Grove, Hartford Twp., Adams Co. IN, with Rosa, his wife, and their three youngest sons, Fred, William, and Gerald, ages 17, 14, and 10. Both Charles Wallace Liby and his son Fred were working in a stone quarry.

C. W. Liby, the son of Jonas and Katherine Liby, was born in Trumbule County, Ohio, October 4th, 1866. Departed this life April 17th, 1921, at his home in Linn Grove.
He was united in marriage to Mrs. Rose E. Hale May 16th, 1891, and to this union were born nine children, one having preceded him in death. He united with the Christian Church at Linn Grove in the month of January, 1907, under the ministry of Rev. Jonathan Dipboye.
He leaves to mourn his loss a wife and eight children, namely: Chas. E. Liby of Decatur, Ind.; Rena C. French of Petroleum; Raymond L. Liby of Fort Wayne; Alexander Liby, Fred Liby, Mrs. Nellie Shanks, William D. Liby of Linn Grove; also one step-daughter, Mrs. Jennie Sours of Petroleum. There also survive five brothers, one sister, and nine grandchildren, besides a host of friends.

Rosetta Murphy Hale Liby Bollinger, according to Noah A. Pusey, who was the census-taker for Hartford Twp., Adams County, IN, on Saturday 16 April 1910, was 38 years old [elsewhere, her birthday was recorded as being on 3 Feb. 1870] Valeri Liby's pedigree chart also gives her year of birth as 1870.
The census-taker also indicates that the marriage to Charles Wallace Liby was his first, but her second. She had been married to Charles Wallace for 19 years.
9 of her 10 children were still living at the time of the census.
Mary and Betty filled out the information which came from the Bible of Rosa Murphy - Charles Wallace Liby's wife. Virgil always talked of the cookies, cakes and pies his Grandma Liby made. He said she was a very large lady.

Rose Bollinger Taken By Death
Mrs. C. L. Bollinger Dies Friday At Home In Linn Grove

Mrs. Rose Liby-Bollinger, 67, wife of C.L. Bollinger, died Friday at her home in Linn Grove. Death was attributed to a heart attack.
She was a life-long resident of Linn Grove and was well known in that community.
Surving, besides the husband, are the following children: Mrs. Charles Sauers (sic), Geneva; Charles Liby of Craigville; Mrs. Roy French of Rockford, Ohio; Mrs. ___ Shanks of Linn Grove, Raymond Liby of Sturgis, Mich.; William and Fred Liby of Linn Grove; ___ of Geneva and Alec of ___lton, Kans. One sister, Mrs. ___ Noll, of Hillsdale, Mich.
Funeral services will be held ___day afternoon at the Christian Church in Linn Grove and burial will be in the Greenwood cemetery.

Heart Attack Claims Woman
Mrs. Clement Bollinger Aged 68 Dies at Linn Grove Today

Mrs. Clement Liby Bollinger aged 68, died of a heart attack __ her home in Linn Grove ____ morning at 9:45 o'clock. She ___ been ailing for several years __ was able to be up and aro___ until the last few days. The decedent was born in ___ Craigville community, February 2, 1871, and her parents, Murp_ died when she was three years old. She was reared by ___ and Mrs. Ben Fisher. She was a member of the Linn Grove Christian church where the final rites will be held Monday at 2 p.m. Her first marriage was to Wallace Liby who preceded 17 years ago. Her second marriage was to Clement Bollinger seven years ago last October. He survives. Children surviving are M__ Jennie Sours, Linn Grove, M__ Rena French, Rockford, O___ Charles of Craigville, Alexander of Hamilton, Kansas, Mrs. ___ Shanks of Linn Grove, Raymond of Sturgis, Mich., Fred and William of Linn Grove and Gerald of Decatur. A twin of Gerald died in infancy. One sister, Mrs. Alice Noll, Hillsdale, Mich., survives. One brother preceded many years ago.

Obituary
Mrs. Rosie Liby Bolinger was born in Ohio Feb. 2, 1871 and died of a heart attack in her home in Linn Grove June 9, 1939, aged 68 years, four months and seven days.
Her parents died when she was three years old and she was reared by Mr. and Mrs. Ben Fisher.
On May 16, 1891 she was married to Charles Liby. To this union were born ten children: Mrs. Charles Sours of Geneva, Charles Liby of Craigville; Mrs. Roy French of Rockford, Ohio; Alex Liby, of Hamilton, Kan.; Mrs. Dale Shanks, William Liby and Fred Liby, all of Linn Grove; Raymond Liby of Sturgis, Mich., and Gerald Liby of Decatur. One son, Harold, is deceased.
Her second marriage was to Clement Bolinger in Bluffton, Dec. 20, 1930 who survives her. Also surviving are 24 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Alice Null of Hillsdale, Mich. A brother, Stanton Murphy is deceased.
Mrs. Bolinger has been a resident of Adams County for over forty years and she leaves many warm friends in addition to her relatives who mourn her departure. She was a good wife and mother and a loyal Christian. She was a member of the Linn Grove Christian church. Her testimony shortly before leaving was, "I am ready to go."
