Review by Marcus Mebes
Peeramyd, the evil magician/jester from Ray Powell's Mr. Flint in Oz, has made a clock that can destroy the magical countries of the Continent of Imagination. Alexis Frodian, a girl from Hawaii who is carried to Mo in a storm, tries to stop the clock from destroying the fairylands. She is befriended by Amos the flying octopus and a talking tree named Woody, and together they experience the magic of Oz and the Silver Shoes. I can't say much more without giving it all away. The illustrations are very striking and great fun. Derek Sullivan has a comic flair that is new and fresh. The drawings of Woody are especially cute, and he fills his drawings with cartoonish action and humor.
