All-time T&F bests: 10.32 in 100 (1973), 21.50 in 200
(1972), 20-10 1/2 (6.36) long jump, 10-10 (3.30) pole vault. Thierry was
the Iowa State HS 50yd dash champion, running 5.6 in 1969. He ran on the
Belgian national record 4x100 relay (40.5 in 1973) and was Belgian national
100m champion in 1973. He competed in the European Indoor Championships 60m
(6.99 - 1973) and at the 1973 World University Games in Moscow (4x100 in
40.6).

Masters achievements: M40 bests of 11.5 in100m and 23.8
in 200. M45 best of 11.7 in 100m. Thierry won the USATF National Masters
Indoor M40 60m title in 1993 with a 7.49.

Trivia: For the 1984 Olympics, Thierry was the Olympic
ambassador to Belgium for the Los Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee.
