Earth Trustee World View (8)
A GLOBAL SOLUTION
By John McConnell
There are certain attitudes that will lead to better understanding of today's problems and provide better solutions.
Whether looking at problems in banking, credit, pollution, politics, education, engineering, city planning, racial conflict, jails, weapons, construction, automation, monopolies, militarism, communications, competition, cooperation, marriage, sexual conduct, religious differences, and in general -- ethics and values, better solutions result from a basic Earth Trustee world view and the values that result.
Fortunately, this world view is one that when properly presented can obtain support from the vast majority of people in every creed and culture.
The Earth Trustee world view is based on our rapidly expanding knowledge of people and planet, science and psychology, physics and metaphysics. As we look for beauty, order and meaning in the chaos of the Cosmos, we must look for love, justice and freedom in the current confusion of our global civilization.
Simply stated, this world view recognizes that all the people on our planet are members of one human family, diverse in cultures and creeds, but with basic common values: Approval of the Golden Rule; appreciation of compassion and altruism, human rights and responsibilities -- and now awareness that our planet has amazing raw materials and natural resources which with our protection, nurture, and wise use of new technology will provide a healthy, prosperous future for the people on our planet.
All we need is awareness that we, the people of Earth, are the Trustees of Earth -- the principle factor in its future. With our new world view and recognition of our common identity as Trustees of Earth, we will seek choices in all our endeavors that will benefit people and planet. The result will be new policies and actions -- based on our new Earth Trustee view of ecology and economics. This will tap the best in our religious faith, reduce inefficiency and pollution; with understanding, participation and a sense of responsibility at every level of endeavor.
We will come together where we agree, with more give and take on our differences. New attitudes will bring new hope and spark vigorous actions for the rejuvenation of our planet.
