FIRST STOP, THE BEST BAR ON THE ISLAND
CAPTAIN TONY'S SALOON

Captain Tony Terracino is a legend in this town and
far beyond the borders of our little Island. Former
Mayor of Key West, Gunrunner, etc., the man's life
up to now is like an Indiana Jones adventure
movie, only all the stories are true. Now 88, he
still hangs out here. As Buffett wrote about Tony
in the song "Last Mango In Paris,"
"A Legend Never Dies."

The Legend and me. At 88, Tony is,
all of us guys (and girls) agree, still
the coolest guy on this island. Stop
by and say hello if you see him in
the bar. He'll be happy to sign
autographs and tell you a few great
stories.

The Bar That Bears Tony's Name Is Also a
Key West Legend. It Was The Original
Sloppy Joe's Way Back When, Only Sloppy's
Owner At The Time Got A Mite Upset About A
Rent Increase The Landlord Proposed, So,
With The Help Of Papa Hemmingway And A
Few Other Local Drunks, He Picked The Whole
Inside Of The Bar Up One Night And Moved It
To The Other Side Of Duval

Since Then, Tony's Has Been An Ice House, A Makeshift
Morgue, And, Finally, Probably The BEST Bar In Key West.
So Come On In, Plant Your Butt On The Same Bar Stools
That Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, John Prine, etc. Fell Off Of,
And Have A Great Time.

Make a point of catching Carl Peachy and his band on weekend nights.
Carl's one of the best guitar players I know of, and his band is equally
as good. Occasionally, you can also catch him doing a solo on acoustic
during the day, too.
