Dubois is ranch and lodge country, high in the Rocky Mountains. For example, the Brooks Lake Lodge is a mountain resort located 30 miles from Dubois, 50 miles from Grand Teton National Park, 60 miles from Yellowstone National Park, and 60 miles from Jackson, WY. They have fishing and skiing on site, plus a free full breakfast. Where else to stay* Hulett, WY (northeast Wyoming) With fishing, golf, and hiking nearby, Hulette is west of Belle Fourche, SD on Hwy 24. Diamond L. Guest Ranch in Hulett, WY is a family oriented ranch offering a free full breakfast, no tv, and a morning horse ride after breakfast each day, plus an evening ride after supper each night. The Diamond L is 18 miles from Devil's Tower. Where to stay* Jackson, WY (northwest Wyoming south of the Grand Teton National Park) Jackson Hole is known for skiing, snowmobiling, seclusion. The Grand Teton National Park is nearby and Yellowstone National Park is less than an hour away. The Snow King Resort Hotel offers an on-site Alpine slide, miniature golf, and horseback riding in the summer, and on-site skiing and ice skating in the winter. The National Elk Refuge is also nearby. Where else to stay

* Sundance, WY (northeastern Wyoming; near Devils Tower and Black Hills)
Grand Teton National Park (western Wyoming) * Teton Village offers several choices in the area including Jackson Hole. * Moose, WY Yellowstone National Park (northwestern Wyoming) * Come to Yellowstone National Park to spend more time exploring bubbling geysers and timing Old Faithful. OLd Faithful Snow Lodge and Cabins is open in the winter from late December to early March for winter activities like cross-country skiing and snowmobiling. No TV, no Radios, no A/C, no Internet - what a hoot! Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel and Cabins, at the north entrance of the park, also have a early May to mid-October regular season, and a late December to early March for winter activities. Canyon Lodge and Cabins is centrally located in the park, and just a half mile from the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River. You can check room rates and date availability on-line. Lodging within Yellowstone National Park requires us to contact them to fulfill requests. * Two Bars Seven Ranch in Tie Siding, 24 miles south of Laramie on US 287. They have 32 cabins, no TV, fishing and hot tub on site, plus horseback riding and kids activities. Stay here for the Greeley Stampede, Cheyenne Frontier Days, and/or Laramie Jubilee Days. |
