Guest's Quarters

You're just in time for the evening meal. Yes, I guess we do dine
rather late.... my apologies. My guests are what you might call
"night people". Shall we find a room for you? No? You hadn't
planned on staying? If you've enjoyed your evening, please
tell your friends... We love visitors.

Leaving? Please take a moment
to let me you how you enjoyed your visit.

Or share your views or creativity with the other visitors...

You may or may not (depending on Guestworld's mood) access the
old guestbook here. I'll try to get it all transcribed one day soon.

[bat]

Mortals have managed to get out of here alive.

THIS WAY OUT...
(you believe me, don't you?)

Before you leave... please, take a moment and meet some of the
other guests.  I'm sure you will enjoy their company as well.

Purgatory--- One of the permanent guests in my home is Ronin. You may have already read some of his poetry here. This is his newly developing site. Purgatory offers insight into his passions and his torment. Features his cynical humor, his writings, and galleries dedicated to the appreciation of the feminine form.

Scray's Sepulcher of Darkness... This is the domain of Lord Sathien. You may have read this poetry
and short story while you were here. His site entertains you with stories of his adventures and his tribulations. His writings are displayed in both his poetry and his journals.

...mute murmurings... Enjoy the creativity of our good friend Ev'lynn (though she be mortal, she's a lovely soul).

Wee Bird's Garden of Astrological and Earthly Delights ...Visit this soft spoken lady for an idea of what your future holds.

The Poetry and Works of Primal Pain : Original poetry by Primal Pain, a past visitor of mine.

"The Vampyre" : By John Polidori, the first occurrence of the romanticized vampire.

"Carmilla": By J. Sheridan LeFanu, one of the first vampire stories in literature.

"Dracula": By Bram Stoker, in it's entirety, if you've got the time and the inclination.

The House of Pain : Monthly e-zine dealing with the horror genre and the dark side.

Elfwood: An expansive gallery of amateur fantasy and sci-fi works.

Matthew Goodsell Gallery : An example of this artist's fine work was "Vampire's Kiss"
as seen in the "Fright Gallery".

Sinister Visions: The Chad Savage Home Page : An artist & graphic designer extraordinaire. This combination of a twisted mind and a talented hand equals dark beauty at it's finest.

John Santerineross : Creative photography with a gotherotica feel. Very nice.

The Frazetta Gallery : A fine sampling of the works of fantasy artist Frank Frazetta. The one piece that almost everyone is familiar with is "The Death Dealer".

VampyrArt: Original vampyric drawings by Robert Jordan. You may have seen his work featured on "The Pathway to Darkness" site.

First Encounters, Digital Art by Duncan Long: Well the title tells you most of the story. You'll find some very different and sometimes disturbing pieces of digital art in this virtual gallery. Duncan does excellent work with a sci-fi flavor and a surreal look.

Brian Livingston's Cool Text. Com : This site is going to be extremely helpful to the budding new web designer who doesn't have a fancy graphics program. You can make text headers, banners, buttons, or bullets online, then download or transload them for your own use. I made the text graphics for the Study and it's subsequent pages on Brian's site. I also got the matching background there.

Signature Gifs : Thanks for the picture of the haunted house seen upon entering my site and for the disappearing lady as seen leaving my domain.

Backgrounds by Whyte Myst : Many beautiful backgrounds to be found here such as the one that I used on DarkFlow's poetry page and also the one in the Guestbook.

Designs by Cinnabar : This is where I got the background set for "The Writings of Stephan" and the background for "Boulevard of Broken Dreams". The lavender divider in "Isobelle's Triumph" is a variation of the bar on Stephan's page.

Dimension Design : The background from "Talith's Darkness" by Morganna was obtained here.

Antoinette Roquentin's Nausea : An artistic site that offers a section with free backgrounds
like the one that looks like a silk scarf that I used in my private chamber.

Gratis Gothic Graphics :  The crest used on Dominic's poetry page... got it here.

Dark Graphics Dungeon : I didn't actually take anything from this sight, but numerous clip art pieces that I have used from unknown sources such as the lightning used on Ronin's page, the animated bat, the chain divider, the demon header, and the purple sparkling stars are featured here so I thought that it deserved an honorable mention.

Will's Gothic Void : In addition to his personal interests, Will has a background and clipart section where I found the background for the "Long Ago and Far Away.." galleries. Also, the barbed wire bar used on Reece's page, the blood bar and the torch in "The Fright Gallery", the rotating skulls and assorted spiders.

The Brunching Shuttlecocks : This is the site which provides the ongoing service of "Gothic Quote of the Day" which is featured in the Study. Their gothic quote generator is only one of the entertaining aspects which they have to offer.

nuknuk's Alternative & Rock Midis : nuknuk sent me the Goo Goo Doll's "Iris" midi when I went begging for it in a Usenet newsgroup.

Werby.com: Bringing the World... Stuff ! : Steve answered my plea to a Usenet Newsgroup, (alt.binaries.sounds.midi.alternative) for a Misfits midi.

Death Clock : When are you going to die? Hmmm? Get their screensaver and watch your life tick away.

Avatar Search - Search Engine of the Occult Internet: Search engine for all your dark queries.

Living Dead Dolls: Charming playthings for the dark childe in you.

Tucows Software Download : Lots of freeware and shareware for a variety of purposes. Get a new browser, IRC programs.... lots of stuff too numerous to mention.

WinAmp Home Page : Download the WinAmp player for MP3s. Collect your favorite MP3s
and set up playlists of your preference.

MP3.com: Free music of CD quality listed by category available for download. Can be played on your computer with WinAmp or Windows Media Player.

VAMPSKISS: Text headers; "Vamp's Parlor" banners; the backgrounds used in "Dark Poetry", "Verse of Lady Morganna", the "Trophy Room", "Words of an English Poet", "The Vampyre Archives- The Blood", "Love Bites", and "Serenity"; the abstact image featured in "The Verse of Lady Morganna; and  the crosses used as bullets (in all their simplicity) were created by yours truly. Manipulations include the crow picture used in "Poetry by the Crow" by enlarging a smaller version of a crow and placing it on a backdrop; collages used as headers; the gargoyle email button, the angel & gargoyle bars.. a simple cut & paste of two separate pieces of clip art of unknown origin;  and the various flame-edged buttons which were cropped from a background segment and then resized.

DESIGN TOSCANO; Historical European Reproductions for Home and Garden: Images scanned from this magazine include the Vampira, Diva of the Dark Side by Thomas Raine (slightly edited) and all of the paintings exhibited in the "Long Ago and Far Away..." gallery. Also the picture of the mantle as shown in the "Main Gallery".

USENET NEWSGROUPS: Pictures of Vain featured in the "Fright Gallery" and "Mistresses of the Night" and also the coffin featured on "Ryan's Story" were all gathered from a  b &w pictorial posted to one of the alt.binaries.erotica newsgroups (exact newsgroup unknown at this time). The picture of Vain featured in the "Fright Gallery" was cropped and vignetted to retain a PG rating for this site.

WHITE WOLF, INC: All references to the clans (Toreador, Gangrel, etc) and the Gangrel image portrayed on "Poetry by DarkFlow" originated with and are copyrighted by WhiteWolf and are trademarks of Vampire: The Masquerade."Alien Hunger" also originated in one of their RPG books.

MICROSOFT: The grayscale image of the full moon and tree branches used on "More Poetry by the Crow" was cropped from a bitmap used in Microsoft's "Jigsawed" game.

AMERICA ONLINE: The background used in "The Crypt" and various sound effects and midis used throughout the site. (Also the FTP space)

UNKNOWN SOURCES: Numerous bars, backgrounds, and pieces of clip art were used that are from unknown, forgotten, or defunct sources and were assumed to be public domain. If any of these are yours and I neglected to credit you, please feel free to email me and we can resolve the issue by links, acknowledgment or removal.

KNOWN SOURCES: Artwork displayed within these walls and implemented within some collages are copyrighted to the respective artists and credited herein. Their display here is meant as a compliment and in the deepest admiration. No copyright infringement is intended. Many thanks to Boris Vallejo, Olivia deBerdinas, Luis Royo, Joseph Linser, Jim Warren, and Matthew Goodsell for their artistic genius.

LITERARY SOURCES: Some background material in The Vampyre Archives, "The Blood" and "Myth~Legend & Romance" sections was gathered from "Vampires" by Nancy Garden; "The Natural History of the Vampire" by Anthony Masters; and "Fallen Angels... and Spirits of the Dark" by Robert Masello. Some of the quotes listed in the Study were obtained in a book called "Great Thoughts" compiled by George Seldes.
