The CSS Virginia was the first Confederate Ironclad. This vessel was responsible for changing the face of naval warfare forever. Her existance launched a frenzy of ironclad design programs on both sides during the American Civil War. Both the North and the South would employ ironclad vessels of various types and shapes to gain control of strategic waterways. This kit when assembled is almost 18" long and is a perfect school project along with her rival the USS Monitor.
