JOIN US! And bring your muse!

Our Purpose:
To encourage writers to share their talents with others through publication.

The Writers Guild of Central Louisiana originated with a small group of interested writers, who met at RIVER OAKS in Alexandria. A group authored and received a grant from THE RAPIDES FOUNDATION in 2000: the fiscal agent was The Arts Council of Central Louisiana.

The first president was Dr. Bernard Gallagher of LSUA. The group currently has close to 30 members.

Our Slogan: JOIN US! And bring your muse!

The Guild meets at various locales four times a year...usually on the 4TH THURSDAY of the meeting month. (Special activities on different dates!) ANYONE can join! ANYONE who loves to write in ANY GENRE! Dues are $25.00 a year and can be mailed to Patti Powell at 1803 Polk St. Alexandria, LA 71301. Contact the Guild by e-mail: writetheguild@aol.com or phone 318-473-9153.

Those 25 and above join the ADULT guild, and we have a new YOUNG AUTHORS GUILD for those up to age 25. The YOUNG AUTHORS leader is JACOB SWIFT. Anyone who likes to write, and is under the age of 25, may contact him to join at KonomoDelta@aol.com. The cost for a youth membership is only $15.00 per year! And one more thing...We offer discounts if more than one family member joins!

Our Logo: Pen in Hand designed by Dr. David Holcombe
