WEST HIGHLAND WHITE TERRIER CLUB OF GREATER DENVER

WEST HIGHLAND WHITE TERRIER CLUB OF GREATER DENVER

The West Highland White Terrier Club of Greater Denver was organized on April 1 of 1973 for the purpose of promoting the "Westie" breed, through education of the membership, who then provide a reliable network of information, readily available to the general public. Since its origin, the group has diligently worked with the various animal foundations in "rescue efforts", finding homes for purebred Westies. The breeder referral service seeks to match puppies to new owners, mindful that not everyone is suited to the terrier temperament.
Nationally recognized by the AKC, the local club annually hosts two breed specialty shows awarding national points to the winners. Monthly meetings are held the  third Tuesday of the month, with information programs following the discussion of club business. Social events include the Christmas party the "doggie Olympics", fun matches, plus special learning sessions for grooming, tracking, obedience, and show presentation.

The club is committed to the continuation of the AKC standard as the measure of excellence, striving to bring the breed's natural qualities to perfection, and hopefully eliminating flagrant breeding practices that threaten the breed. They welcome your interest and invite those interested in the same goals to join them. For more information, contact (click on) Deborah Borgo (membership chair).
