1.3 million to get minimum wage boost March 19th
About 1.3 million workers will be guaranteed
higher pay when the minimum wage rises in October. The adult rate of the
minimum wage will rise from £5.05 to £5.35 an hour and the youth rate for
workers aged 18 to 21 will be increased from £4.25 to £4.45. The
Government has also accepted the recommendation of the Low Pay Commission
that the rate for workers aged 16-17 years should increase from £3.00 to
£3.30.

I am very proud of the partnership working across the Borough that has led to the economic improvements. Cllr Marie Rimmer is urging all St Helens
residents aged over 65,and families with young children to take advantage
of St Helens Council's offer of free carbon monoxide detectors and free
home safety checks.

Beating Bogus Callers October 18th West Park's Labour team have been delivering free 'Bogus caller' warning cards to local residents. Marie said" Bogus callers target vulnerable households and once they trick their way inside someone's home they distract the resident with the intention of stealing valuables. The warning cards can be placed in a window or door to alert all callers that verifiable identification is expected.
