Updated 11/07/1999
Attached below is a self-extracting zip file containing a GEDCOM file which is a second draft of my attempt at mapping entire surnames from Ladbergen, Westphalia, Germany.
This is a draft database. As in any attempt at transcribing records, there are probably some errors. The records also contain demonstrated errors as you might notice when you look at the data.
The data are a result of research focused on the following surnames (although many collateral lines appear):
AUFDERHAAR, BÖCKER, DEERHAKE, ELSHOVE (ELSHOFF), ESCHMANN, GROTHOLTMANN, HAGEN, HEMMER, HILLEBRANT, HOGE, HÖLSCHER, HÜLSMEIER, JACOBS (JACOB-ELSHOVE), KÖTTERHEINRICH, KUCK, LAGEMAN, MÖLLER, NIEMEIER, NÜSSMEIER, PETERJOHANN, RAMEIER, SNETHKAMP, STIENECKER, STORCK, STRÜWE, SUNDERMAN, VENNEHERMANN, WALLMAN, WIBBELER, and WIERWILLE
Partially done: KÖTTER, WELLEMEIER
Due to the size of the GEDCOM (over 6000 names are now in the database), I am only including a self-extracting zip version. If you need a raw GEDCOM (about 2MB) please email me and I will send it.
Feel free to download the files, but treat this as a draft, not as a final product.
The purpose of putting this database online is to get Ladbergen researchers to look at it and notify me of errors or put issues up for discussion to a wider group. There is certainly more information out there besides the church records and your infomation may help clear up some uncertainty. As a group, we may be able to solve some of history's puzzles.
