Welcome to our tour of All's Wool (that ends wool) Farm & Studio Woodstock, Vermont, USA the home of Woodstock Woolly Bears |
|---|
| Let's get started.
We'll walk slowly to give the pictures time to load. |
|
| Go up the dirt road that's just a bit wider than one lane and turn into the drive. You'll find an old brick cape farmhouse originally built around 1790. It has changed a lot over the past 200 years. |
The big verandah and second floor dormers you see were all added sometime about 100 years ago. The farm was originally part of the homestead of one of the early families to settle in Woodstock. At the back of the house is a wood frame ell that houses the studio and workrooms. |
| Come on inside. | |
| Pardon our mess. Our old house still needs a lot of work! In the main studio room, you can see some really great sweaters, jackets and accessories and, of course, teddy bears. | ![]() |
| Say hello to our bearmaker. | |
| That's Dianne, our bearmaker. She is usually pretty busy doing something with all that wool our sheep grow. Here you see her hand spinning yarn but if you came by another time you might find her dyeing ~ she hand dyes all the wool ~ or felting hats or knitting sweaters or..... of course, making teddy bears. Dianne used to live in a loft in New York City and work as a designer in the garment industry. Now, she lives with us here on the farm in Vermont, looks after a flock of one hundred sheep and designs and makes lots of great things from their shorn wool. | ![]() |
| Lets go out to the barn and see where Woodstock Woolly Bears come from. |
|
| Could you please get the door. |
