Original all natural bears made in Vermont

We are Woodstock Woolly Bears. We are created on a farm near Woodstock, Vermont in the beautiful foothills of the Green Mountains. We grow up there with a big flock of sheep. Our sheep friends grow all the wool used to make us. In fact, one of the things that make us so special is that we are made entirely from 100% pure soft Vermont wool on the outside ~ and the inside! There are no other teddy bears quite like us in the world ~ no plastic, no polyester, no factory-made fabric, and certainly no sheepskin(!) is ever used to create us. We are as natural as teddy bears can be! ! !

Our unique natural qualities start with our sheep friends like Amanda and Eloise who are specially bred to grow beautiful lustrous wool just right for making Woodstock Woolly Bear fur. Our sheep are shorn each spring and their fleeces are gently washed in mild vegetable based soap. Each fleece is then carefully sorted ~ the most lustrous is chosen to spin into yarn which is hand dyed and the softest is fluffed up to make our wonderful natural wool filling. We are made from the hand dyed yarn using a special, unique process ( not cut and sewn like most other teddies).  That special process gives each of us our own distinct personality.

All of our clothes are handcrafted in original designs from that same soft wool. Our sweaters are all designed by our bearmaker.....who was a knitwear designer in real life.....she ran away from New York to live with us and the sheep here in Vermont! She also makes great hand felted vests, hats and accessories for us .
