Date: 1/12/2005 From: Mick O'Connell I have to share my testimony with you. On Sunday
1/9/05, I gave my testimony & played Almighty for our congregation
at Full Gospel Church of God in Highspire, Pa. I attend there & I'm
the sound engineer for a small but growing church of about 35 people. With Love, Hi Harriet, More greetings from England! Since I reviewed "The Way Home" for Cross Rhythms magazine (see articles page) way back in '98, I have become Music Director of UCB Europe, a 24 hr/7 day radio station that broadcasts across the UK and Europe on the Sky Digital network. Wayne's new self-titled album has been Album Of The Week recently, there are five trax from it on our medium and heavy rotation playlists, and "One Of These Days" is a truly awesome song!! Next week, from Monday August 21, Wayne is my Artist Of The Week on my afternoon show, which runs 1 pm to 4 pm UK time, and I'll be spotlighting his career, his life story and playing a track a day from his back catalogue, nearly all of which we have in our library on CD. Be encouraged, if our UCB listeners don't know about Wayne Watson come Friday afternoon, they never will! Send Wayne all our best greetings from Europe, and here's hoping he'll be over to see us soon. Trevor Kirk Music Director, UCB Europe
Thank you for your extremely useful site. I am
not very familiar with Wayne Watson's music and so did not recognize when
the lyrics of one of his songs was printed at the beginning of a book I
was reading. It listed the copyright info with Word but no info about the
composer. Between CCLI and your site I was able to find the name of the
album and the fact that there is printed music and a trac available. Thanks
again! Gina Marie Root Harriet & Dave, Just a quick note to say thanks for all the time you spend on the Wayne Watson site--especially recently with the Touched By An Angel thing. I don't know how you do it. It makes me tired to think about it! :) But it's great to get the updates you provide. I enjoy reading the postings on the Message Board on a regular basis. Thanks again for all your effort! Robin L. Harriet, just wanted to drop you a note to say how thrilled I am to have found your site. What a devoted fan you are! You really should be commended for such a great job. I have listened to Wayne since 1989 and gone to more concerts than I can count. I live in Houston; so I always make his last tour stop every year. He is so blessed, as are we for being able to listen to His word. Well, that's really all I had to say. Thanks for your time. You are in my prayers, I'm so excited to find your page dedicated to Wayne Watson. I truly love his music & I have seen him about 5 times in concert here in California. I am listening to my Christian Radio station here in Stockton, CA. The Dove Awards are being transmitted live from Nashville, TN. I heard that Wayne Watson will be here in California at Family Community Church in Sacramento (916) 334-7700 on June 25th. Thanks for the great pictures & music of Wayne.....great job!!! Praise be to God for this wonderful music that nurtures & feeds us daily. In Christian Love, Dannel Harriet, I've just spent an hour or two being
blessed by your Wayne Watson Fan Page web site. Hi Wayne: II Sam. 7:18 In Christ's abiding Love Sherry Coombe william.coombe@gte.net Subj: Your Wayne Site Date: 98-07-08 02:33:22 EDT From: Mark J. I have taken the words from "Somewhere in the World," put them into a picture and framed it.. I plan on sending it to him as a way of showing him my thanks for what his music and God have done in my life. Even as I write this that song just started playing :-) No coincidence Im sure. After browsing the other mail you have gotten talking about how his music has touched others I was moved to write one myself. We are huge Wayne fans. We have seen him twice and are hoping to see him
this year and thanks to your page I got the info I needed. (Leslee entered the contest today and picked
The Very Best Of Wayne Watson as her Favorite Album) There's more....Later that day, I called the radio station to see who the singer was. I never could get an answer - the phone just rang and rang. I was so tired from having gone with little sleep for two days, but that night I grabbed my then 8-month old and headed out to the music store. I got there at about 15 minutes to closing. I didn't even know what I was looking for. The store had a machine where you plug in song titles. It said that "Home Free" was on the "Home Free" album and also on "The Very Best of Wayne Watson." There were not any Wayne Watson albums there. I remembered there was a Christian book/music store in the mall across the street (I don't know why I didn't try there in the first place). I ran to my car with my son, cruised across the street to the mall, ran into the mall (it was closing time). I must have looked crazy running with a baby, red-eyed - I don't even think I had showered that day. Anyway, all the stores were lowering their gates, but the Christian bookstore was wide open. I ran in, mumbled to the clerk what I needed. We went over to the CD section - there was one CD with "Home Free" on it left in the whole store. Of course, I knew that was my copy and I bought it! I was so happy that I explained myself to the clerk - he thought I was crazy, I think. We played "Home Free" at my Mom's funeral. I have listened to that song over and over again this past year and it always bring me peace. God is so good! This is a long note - sorry! It is just that it's
all still so fresh in my mind even after almost a year. My husband and
I are going to see Wayne in concert on May 22nd (in Houston) - I have second
row - center seats. I just happened go to the bookstore that was
selling them on the very first day. I couldn't believe my eyes when
I saw that those seats were available!
Subj: Wayne Watson Date: 98-05-08 13:01:40 EDT From: David D. of Doylestown, PA To: DRoll6337@aol.com "Friend of a Wounded Heart" was the
first Wayne Watson song I encountered ; after hearing it, I wanted to check
out the entire album. Unfortunately, my local Christian bookstore only
had a copy of Wayne's album "The Fine Line." As it turned out,
though, it didn't matter; I felt drawn to the music and to the messages
contained in the songs -- which was rather surprising (to my parents, at
least), since my favorite kind of music was (and remains) classical. But
the more I listened to Wayne's albums, the more I found to love. I cannot
say that I have had this reaction to ALL the Christian music and Christian
artists with whom I've come in contact. I believe that certain music/musicians
speak to certain hearts ; for me, the Christian artist that speaks most
directly to me is Wayne Watson. (I try *never* to miss a WW concert within
100 miles or so of my home -- I've even driven down to the Jersey shore
to hear him [at Ocean Grove]. Perhaps it sounds obsessive, but I even arranged
my vacation schedule last October so as to be able to take in a WW concert
in Burton, OH, when I went to that state to visit college friends...). I've been a huge Wayne fan since 1991, when I heard "Freedom" on our great Contemporary Christian station here in Lancaster, PA, WJTL. I then went out and bought "Home Free" right away, listened to it continuously for about 2 straght days and was hooked as a Wayne fan! I hear "Almighty" quite often on our other great Christian radio station here, WDAC. I even saw "Almighty" sung by the choir on Charles Stanley's In Touch TV program -- I got all excited and told my wife, "That's a Wayne song!" She just looked at me strange! My daughters, ages 5 and 2, walk around the house singing "Watercolour Ponies" all the time, it is so adorable, makes me cry! They also like "Somewhere In The World", too. I had the chance to see Wayne in concert twice so far. Once was in 1992 here in Lancaster. Wayne had a whole band with him that night, they did all the hits from "Home Free" and lots of older stuff. Bruce Carroll (another huge favorite of mine) opened for Wayne that night and was great too, just Bruce and his acoustic guitar out there for an hour. In 1994, I saw Wayne again in York, PA, this time it was just Wayne and his piano or guitar. James also came out for a few songs. I enjoyed this concert so much better, just being Wayne and his music and his chatting with the audience between songs. What a great night. The Lord was there with us and we could all feel it. I'll be writing to you all again soon. Thanks again! In Christ, Mark Subj: Wayne Watson Be encouraged! I have been asked to review "The Way Home" for Cross Rhythms magazine and I love it!! I also present CCM shows on Hospital Radio here in Leicester, England, and there's plenty of Wayne's material on the playlist, right back to "The touch of the Master's hand". Glad to see he's teamed up with "Omar" again, they bring out the best in each other. I need the lyric of the song " A touch of the master's hand".I
will be grateful if you could send it to me.We are trying to introduce
Christian music to our people.I mean, we have Christian music here in Chile, but
we want to show them how God has made such good artists all over the world.I
have a video with that song, but I can't understand all the words to translate
them to my people, but if I have the lyrics I will be able to continue with
my job.Thanx. Hello there....this is Chris Tillotson...in Vicksburg, MS...just a half hour from Miss. College and ALIVE 93.5!!! Wayne was here back on Dec. 7th with Point of Grace...4 HIM...and Scott Kirpayne...WOW...What a show...of course the only reason I went was to see Wayne. I remember the first time I heard about Wayne was in High School. My girlfriend at the time asked if I had heard of him...I said no....had no clue...this was in 1986. She let me listen to the Water Color Ponies tape...it was great. I heard he was going to be at Miss. College and so I bought tickets for my girl and I...I just wanted to be with her....but you know how it is when God moves....ha ha ha....He is very much in control....anyway, as the concert got underway I knew I was in for the night of my life....I don't remember anybody being in the room but Wayne and me....every word he sang and spoke went right to my heart!! From that point on...Wayne has always been THE MAN when it comes to contemporary christian music. He has inspired my own song writing....and I've always wanted to say thank you...to Wayne...I was just a couple of feet away from him as he ate before the concert that night in December...but I didn't want to invade his time...I figure those are rare moments on the road.... So, I'll thank you folks for this page...Please keep up the great work.....I'll check back often...you can count it!!!! ......and Wayne...if you read this ..........Thank you....keep on keeping God first.....and I know ....He will Bless...we all know it is Him that all credit is due...thanks again for being willing to hear and listen when God speaks.... IN CHRIST....... Chris Tillotson... Your Wayne W. dedication page is wonderful! I've had the privilege of seeing him a couple of times out here in Sacramento. I really think he lives what he sings. Keep up the good work!! Matt I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed finding your Wayne Watson Fan Page. I am a Wayne Watson fan, also, his guitar player James happens to be my brother!! It was great to see the pictures on the web. Keep up the great work with the page. I'll visit again. God bless you. Darlene Dillingham Fryar This is such a beautiful testimony of how
Wayne's music ministry touches lives and points us to Christ: I purchased your tape "A Beautiful Place" about 2 years ago, as always with new tapes or cd's I play them until I'm sick to death of them and move on to the latest and greatest... About two weeks ago I was going through my tapes in my car and ran across "A Beautiful Place", I hadn't listened to it in a while, so I popped it into my tape player and was amazed at how fresh is sounded, it was as if all the songs were new to me - it's great how as the seasons in life change so do meanings to the books you read, the scriptures and the music... I digress.. I was listening to the song "The Way that I Miss You" and the Lord just really impressed on me to write the words of that song out in a card and send it to my brother. I did that and mailed it out on Wednesday, the following Sunday I saw my brother in Church (which I hadn't seen for many months) and he passed me a note during service, basically thanking me for the card and that he was no longer going to be a half way Christian but he was going to be a 100% Christian... After service I went to his house and found out that he and his wife were talking about spliting and he was as far away from God as a Christian could be... He said he came home and he felt that he was at his darkess moment in his life, he sat down at the kitchen table and saw my card... The words spoke directly to him from God - I didn't expect this type of reaction, in fact I'm ashamed to say I never thought God would work like that, this has changed my faith... God reached out to my brother so profoundly that it changed my brothers life and mine. God is so very awesome!!! Name Withheld by Request
Subj: Wayne Watson Date: 98-03-11 22:07:50 EST From: Keith J. To: droll6337@aol.com Your WW web page is a great effort. Thanks for the diligence it requires to keep it up. Just picked up "..Way Home". It's another straight up, here's what matters, effort from a gifted artist. Whenever I need a song to share with our youth group, encourage a friend or just lift me up, I can count on Wayne to provide one. He has the anointed ability to capture a thought, present the gospel and 'straighten my walk'. He serves the Lord not only with beautiful melodies, but incredible lyrics. We need him to come to Atlanta for about a week! Thanks again for the effort. Sincerely,
Wanted to let you know that I appreciate your page on the net with Wayne Watson at the focus. Wayne and I were at Louisiana Tech University and both members of the Baptist Student Union. I will tell you he has been one of the most talented and down to earth people it has been my fortune to know. One story I like to tell about Wayne happened when he was just getting started with Word Music. He and the people from Word came to Monroe, LA to do a choir festival (something to sell sheet music). Wayne saw me in the audience and came down and asked me if I remembered him (even though it had only been three years since I graduated.) I told him yes, I remembered him and asked him what he was doing now. He said he had gotten a job with Word Music. About half a minute after he had walked up to me I noticed many members of my choir had now found various reasons for joining us. I introduced him to each and everyone of the people in my choir. He stood and shook hands with everyone and ''passed a good time'' (as we say in south Louisiana). Within about 5 minutes he said he had to go. He had something he had to take care of and he would see me at the end of the program. When they introduced the night's entertainment I was surprised to learn that my friend from Louisiana Tech University was THE Wayne Watson who had the number 1 hit record in gospel music at the time ''The Touch of the Master's Hand.'' As he began to sing the chorus, Wayne looked out into the audience where I was sitting and waved and smiled and gave me a big thumbs up. I could have been a backhoe at the time my mouth was dragging the floor. My friends all laughed and joked that I had no idea who Wayne Watson was. I told them, the joke was on them, cause I really did know who Wayne Watson was----He was/and is a Child of the King. I knew it when we were in school...And I know it now. Just wanted to add something to your book of facts cause you have made me smile with this page. I wanted to share a little story of my own. I hope this has made you smile as well. Thank you again for making this page. Until we meet--either, here, there, or in the air....your sister in Jesus Christ, Chadetta Blankenship I just found your page on the Net and I was soooo excited!!! Wayne Watson has to be the best Christian artist of all time! My husband & I love his music and message. He "tells it like it is". We have never had the opportunity to go to one of his concerts yet, but hope to someday soon. His music really makes you think about your relationship to God - it is so inspiring. I lead our church choir and have found some published SATB music of his and we're singing it! It sounds great! People are wanting to get copies of Wayne's music because they like it so much! Thanks for your web page - keep it up! God Bless!
I don't send out much e-mail, but I had to let you know that your WW page is great. It's obvious you have put so much work into it. It is top-notch quality. That's all I wanted to tell you! Blessings to you! Thanks for your great web page. My husband and
I are huge fans of Wayne. We have seen him numerous times in concert and
he always great whether he is by himself or or with a band. I was first
introduced to his music by my husband when we were dating in 1986. Up to
then, my only experience with Christian music was the Imperials which I
loved. I remember not wanting to go because "he probably is not any
good I mean I've never heard of this guy." Thank God that my husband
made go, that was the best concert I'd been to. He made me laugh, cry,
and I was in awe at how he could take everyday experiences and turn them
into beautiful melodies. Needless to say I became an instant fan and we
now have most his records and videos he has produced. We also collect his
tee-shirts. His song Somewhere in the World was sung to us at our wedding
and we got the chance to tell him that at a concert once. Do you have any concert dates for Wayne's new
album yet? If so please let me know. Particularly if he will be in Nashville.
God Bless, Thanks for the page. I've been a big fan since 1982 when I got saved. It's nice to have CCM music that you don't have to decifer. Wayne certainly tells it like it is. PTL! Cameron R. Enjoyed finding information of our family's top
performing Christian artist. My family and I have attended Wayne's concerts
in the Columbus, Ohio area for the past 8 years. I did have an opportunity
to meet briefly with him & had my two older kids pose with Wayne for
a picture. I do have a question. Does anyone have any concert
information about Wayne for 1998? I am very curious to see if he is coming
back to the Columbus, Ohio area this year. A favorite song - probably our most is "The Fine Line" - "Not talkin' about walking fences, Not talkin' about compromise, But living and breathing as pleasing in His eyes." Bill Horosz & family Subj: Wayne Watson Thanks for the updated info on Wayne. I appreciate your efforts. I'm a big fan as well. I live in Cincinnati, Ohio, and I just went to his Chistmas concert (with 4 him and Point of Grace) in Dayton, Ohio early December. It was good, but a little too much Point of Grace, not enough Wayne! Do you know, does the album also have a March 1 release date?(Note: See What's New in Wayne's World for information) Also, if you have any 1998 concert tour information, or where I could find it, it would be appreciated. Thanks again for the hard work! Subj: Wayne Watson Date: 97-12-13 22:06:42 EST From: Beth A. Hey, thanks for putting this website together!!! I have enjoyed Wayne's music for the past 14 years - the first song I heard was "Watercoloured Ponies" at a Bible study after a long hard day with our three pre-schoolers. Not just guilt, but the realization of how precious time is with them gave me a more positive attitude with them. Subj: Wayne Watson page I would really like you to put my letter on your site, and maybe, if Wayne reads it, he may consider coming over to Europe once! Wouldn't that be great!
