Great places about Titanic

So you're fed up with learning about Titanic over the internet, you don't feel like reading any books, and you're not in the mood for a movie. Suddenly you crave some hands on experience. But please don't touch, you know, I don't want to get in trouble for telling you to. Well, here is a list places to go to and things to see about the Titanic and her sisters:

1. The Maritime Museum - Halifax, Nova Scotia Canada

This place is really cool. They have stuff all about ships there. In The Age of Steam section of the building there is a room about Titanic. And in the Shipwrecks area of the building is some stuff that scientists recovered from the wreck site, and some other things that were saved from the ship or found floating in the ocean (in 1912) including a deck chair picked up by Carpathia. When you look at it, it's cool to think that this chair went through the Titanic Disater. Also you can lern about the sinking of the Atlantic, which was another White Star ship that sank in the 1870's. This was the sixth ship of the line. Of the 900 people onboard, about 600 died. That included all the women, all married couples, and all the children but one little boy. Meaning that only men survived.

2. The Fairview Cemetary - Halifax, Nova Scotia Canada

Look apon the graves of those who's bodies were recovered from the ocean. Many of them are the bodes of unidentifed persons, crew members, and passengers who's families coudn't aford to have them moved and buried somewhere else. There's also a small monument to those who died. It's interesting to think about what happened to these people. If you have a number of a person and you would like to find there grave, check here.

3. Baron de Hirsch Jewish Cemetary - Halifax, Nova Scotia Canada

Although for this cemetary is smaller than the one in the Fairview Cemetary, here you can look apon a few graves of those who were Jewish.

4. East Park - Southampton, England

Here you can see two memorials to Titanic. One is to the stewards of the ship and the other is to her engineers.

5. Nomadic - Cherbourg, France

When Titanic arrived at Cherbourg, she was too big for this city's port. So, they had to ferry people out to her on the Nomatic. This small ship was was owned by the White Star Line and was used if there was a ship too big for Cherbourg's port. You can go see this boat. It's on the city's water front.

6. Crown Berger Paint Works - Haltwhistle, England

Go here to veiw paintings taken off the Olympic when she was scrapped in 1937.

7. The White Swan Hotel - Alnwick, England

In this hotel, there are many artifacts taken off of Olympic when she was scrapped in 1937.
