Life In 2nd Class

Above is what a second-class cabin looked like on an Olympic-class ship.

Second class was for the average person. Second class passengers had access to most of the ship. If you were onboard an Olympic-class ship, this is what it would be like if you were in second class.

For all your meals you would go to the second class dinnig saloon. (Click here to see a picture of it from Phillip Hind's RMS Titanic: Her Passengers and Crew) You would get drinks and food on or out of elegant things for the time like the wine carafe above. You might also go to the second class lounge or the second class library as they would call it. (Click here to see a picture of it from Phillip Hind's RMS Titanic: Her Passengers and Crew) Then you could go to the second class part of the boat deck, take a walk, go to dinner, maybe go to the gym, and go to sleep.
