Eocene Dead Horse Tuff, Copper Basin, Nevada: at left is a fragmentary
specimen of an alder, Alnus cuprovalis; at right is a
complete leaf from the alder, Alnus jarbidgiana--both
specimens are among the most common plant remains recovered from
the Dead Horse Tuff. |
