"Termite"
Date of Birth: July 22, 1999
Termite was born a normal size puppy, weighting in at 3 1/2 oz.
He was actually the biggest in the litter of 2.
As his brother grew, Termite remained small. At 8 weeks old he was
only 8 1/2 oz.
His brother was 22 oz. Both were very active.
He had been checked by our vet numerous time and nothing could be found
wrong.
Doing blood work was very dificult as he was so small.
But all of his test were normal.
When the puppies were 9 weeks old, we somehow brought home a case of Parvo.
We tried everything our vet could think of but his brother did not make it.
Termite hung in although he was a very sick little boy.
We had to treat him at home as he required around the clock care.
He was given fluid & Antibotics every 2 hour. Along with lots of
Nutri-Cal
and anything else we could get him to eat or drink.
We went to the vet every day.
On 1 trip we had deceided that he had suffered enough
and we were going to let the vet put him to sleep.
We we told the vet our decision, Termite let out a cry.
The first sound he had made in 3 days.
He wanted to live, so we continued to help him fight.
Today, he is a happy health little boy & the joy of our lives.
The above photo was taken on Termite's 6 month birthday.
He weighted 22 oz.
At 12 months old he is now 32 oz.
