I am a Research Biologist with the U. S. Food and Drug Administration. My research interests are to assess, document, and understand reproductive tract toxicities caused by estrogens (agents used as oral contraceptives and for estrogen replacement therapy), antiestrogens (agents used for breast cancer therapy and treatment of anovulatory syndrome), phytoestrogens (estrogens consumed as plant products), and endocrine disrupters (estrogens in the environment, e.g., pesticides and herbicides). It is the least "sexy" sex-related research I know of.......but I enjoy it.
Photography is an important part of my discretionary time. Whenever possible, I include photography with my hobbies which include: canoeing, hiking, travel, Celtic and folk music, model railroading, and my loyal (but neurotic) Black Labrador Retriever, Maddy.
The images I have included were chosen for their subject matter, composition, intensity of color, and in some cases, sentimentality. I have learned that sometimes a "good" or aesthetically pleasing image lies hidden within a mediocre image. Adobe Photoshop allows me to extract that "good" image.
My photographs may be viewed and/or used freely for non-commercial purposes. If you wish to use them for profit, please make sure I get a cut of the action. I am currently scanning my prints with a Microtek E6 flatbed scanner and my slides with a Microtek Scanmaker 35t Plus slide and negative scanner to make them available to the interested and/or curious.
These images are of subjects I find interesting and visually appealing. Through them, I have tried to express both the beauty and mystery of nature..............I hope you like them.
