Who is responsible for this page?

This page was created and is maintained by Zane
Riester. The site opened in June of 1998 and is updated regularly.
How did it develop?
-
Following my graduation from University I was awarded
a Watson Fellowship to examine the similarities between 19th century Victorian
railroad stations and 17th century Baroque churches in France, Italy and
the United Kingdom. Already fascinated with these vast cathedrals of
the Industrial Revolution, I soon became obsessed. From the project's
inception I wanted to share my observations and discoveries with others.
Stations are buildings for the masses and the internet is the people's
medium.
