Recent assignments included interpreting for:
Marek Karp, the managing director of the Warsaw-based Center for Eastern Studies, during a public lecture at the Johns Hopkins University Pual Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and several other meetings in Washington, D.C., in November 1997;
Marek Kempski, the leader of the Polish Solidarity trade union's Upper Silesian Region, during his September 1997 meeting at the United States Department of State;
Warsaw Region Solidarity leader Maciej Jankowski and the Director of the Lech Walesa Institute Andrzej Zakrzewski, during the two gentlemen's August 1997 visit in Washington, DC;
the Speaker of U.S. House of Representatives Newt Gingrich and his then-Polish counterpart, Mr. Jozef Zych;
U.S. Attorney General Janet Reno and the then-Polish Minister of Administration and Internal Affairs Leszek Miller;
Polish groups studying employee stock ownership plans in the United States;
three Polish delegations studying deregulation and partial demonopolization of the electric power sector in the United States;
several Polish groups studying small business development organizations and policies in the United States;
leading distributors of top-of-the-line U.S. products in Poland.
Most recent written translation assignments included large documents pertaining to various aspects of law enforcement, interconnection policy in the telecommunication sector, wooden frame housing systems, financial statements of an international insurance company, container reloading at a Baltic port, collective bargaining and labor dispute resolution.
Marcin Zmudzki is currently translating an autobiography of Bishop Jozef Sebastian Pelczar (a 348-page book) into English.
