Zuhela Yamir studied dance for 17 years with master teachers, Ibrahim Farrah and Elena Lentini. She took classes with Nadia Gamal of Egypt and Mahmoud Reda. During her years with Bobby Farrah she became one of his proteges. She continues taking classes with artist through out the country and abroad. She has artistic expression which brings an earthy style to her dance. In earlier years she performed in clubs, restaurants and theaters. She has been teaching for 40 years. She always feels that continued education benefits your style and technique. She had three schools in New York and New Jersey. Her enthusiasm for technical instruction as well as her expertise in Oriental and Folkloric gives her students encouragement to express themselves artistically. Since moving to Ocala, Florida she teaches private and small groups at the studio; and larger group classes are taught at the Community Technical Adult Education School on State Road 200 and new classes at the E lan Spa. The classes are taught in the Classical Oriental and Folkloric. Students learn Raqs Sharqi (classic technique,combinations or choreography. Shimmies layering and advanced hip work. Raqs Assaya (Egyptian folkloric, cane/stick dancing. Drum solo. Egyptian folkloric Dance combinations and folkloric from Alexandria . Zills, Drums and Feeling the Rhythms unique choreographies, technique and zills. Fundamentals of Oriental Dance (beginning ,intermediate and advance). Zuhela and her sister Maia direct their Troupe . A company of talented dancers "The Benat Sharkien Dancers Of Ocala".which has Zahid playing the Dumbek for The Benat Sharkien Dancers, Zuhela , Maia, Mari, Samara, Gigi, Olga, Sahara, Zabrina . The instruments will include other Arabic instruments. Zuhela plays the tambourine (Rig) and Claves. In the future the Tar, and Mazhar. Ancient Dances of the Pharaohs, Persian, Spanish Fusion, Turkish, Interprative American Native Indian Dances are also taught.

Maia studied dance with Zuhela and with Ibrahim Farrah and Elena and became one of Bobby's proteges. In New York she danced in theaters, clubs and restaurants and has been teaching for 30 years. She also continues her education in dance by taking workshops with artist here and abroad. She is teaching Oriental and Folkloric at the Community and Adult Education on S.R. 200. Her unique style has beauty and grace. Maia and her sister Zuhela will combine both schools and direct The Benat Sharkien Dancers.
