Hello! My name is "Minew"
MEOW - My name is Minew
(and my eyes are both the SAME color, it's just that Mom forgot
to push the 'red-eye-reduction' button on the camera flash).

Hi! This is Sweet Pea.
Minew, Cinnamon, and Emily are my pets. I THINK that's how it goes. It might be the other way around!

Minew is the family house-cat (although his ambition is to become an "outside jungle cat") and, as most of you who have pets know, he doesn't think of himself as a CAT at all.

He's the King, the Grand-Poobah, the Ruler of All He Surveys, and acts as if he holds the mortgage on this home. We live here merely at HIS convenience.

But he is a lovin' ol' thing. Not much of a lap-sitter, but he always has to be near people, or touching them, or snuggling in the crook of one's arm (or leg) to sleep (and he sleeps a LOT).

We now have THREE kitties. Minew has been joined by Cinnamon and Emily (who were carted home by my husband.... you know.... the one who "DOESN'T LIKE CATS" but who runs a 24-hour front-door buffet for every stray in the neighborhood).

Stories about Minew

Cinnamon

I wish someone would take this scarf off of me!

As sweet as Minew is with people, he's just that much of a terror with other animals. He has no fear (and not much sense, either), since he tried to take on the Pitt Bull on the other side of the fence.

So when my husband brought home an abandoned kitten (Cinnamon) he found in a parking lot, I was really worried that they were going to kill each other! Amazingly, the adjustment was relatively easy.

Around some business areas, there always seems to be stray and half-feral cats haunting the vicinity. They breed. And have litters. Cinnamon came from such a litter.

My husband found her one chilly evening around Christmas-time, meowing pitifully. He brought her home and the rest is history.

Emily

I may lOOK innocent but I'm really a HOLY TERROR!

I'M A MOMMY AGAIN!

On Saturday, May 18, 2002, my husband AGAIN dragged home ANOTHER abandoned kitten. The place where he works should convert to a kitten-rescue organization!

PITIFUL OR WHAT?

This little one rushed through the front doors of the business and was scampering around and hiding in the large store for hours. Someone must have just dumped her in front of the store.

This is what Emily looked like when she first arrived. She was dirty and terribly thin. Her whiskers were either bent or broken off and the dirt was ground into her skin. Her eyes and nose were runny and caked-over. She was a mess! But still, she was frisky and VERY people-friendly.

Rich (the one who "doesn't like cats") didn't have the heart to just leave her there and so decided to bring her home (after a telephone call to me to ensure that the other cats were not going to have Major Problems with the new kitty).
