All Souls' Episcopal Church of Miami Beach |

About All Souls' Episcopal ChurchAll Souls' Church is the only Episcopal presence in Miami Beach, Florida. The parish was founded during World War II to assist in meeting the need of the thousands of military personnel stationed here for training. All Souls' continues to serve as a welcoming environment for all who visit. The faithful members who carried on the mission of Christ's work in this area in the 1950's saw to it that a lovely edifice was erected to glorify God in what many see as an earthly paradise. The dominant architectural feature would have to be the many stained glass windows of the nave which depict the Lord's apostles, the windows of the Lady Chapel, depicting the Virgin, her kinswoman Elizabeth, and Lazarus' sisters Mary and Martha. At the east end, above a native limestone raredos, is a rose window of the risen Christ reigning in majesty; and in the balcony at the west end is another window in a cruciform shape with Jesus' mother and John the beloved disciple looking upward to the light of Christ blazing from the cross.
