pathenri38@comcast.net.A1. Related Japanese Restaurant -
It has been a custom at many of our reunions to have a dinner at one of the local Japanese restaurants. This has been set up at the Kyoto Japanese Restaurant and will be held on Wednesday night. The restaurant will be closed for regular business that night. The cost of the meal is expected to be about $16 plus 20% gratuity per person w/o appetizers or desert. We are making arrangements for a 21 passenger bus to serve us in 3 different settings. The restaurant will hold 54 people. The busses will depart the hotel tentatively : 5:30 (full), 6:15 (16 open) & 7:45 (full). Busses will return to hotel at 7:30, 0815 & 9:30. The first seating which will be filled by the first 2 busses presently has a total of 38 seats filled we have 16 seats on the bus and available in the restaurant. If necessary we will add an additional bus run for the last setting at the restaurant. Those who have not signed up for a seating will have to sign up for the first seating unless they are providing there own transportation. It is to be noted that we still have 16 seats available for the first setting. I will have to pay for the bus ($350) in advance so I am asking all who are using the bus to send me a check for $7.50 per person the prorated share no later than 10 August. If you are interested and have not signed up let Roy Gettz know, this is usually a very popular event and is being offered to the first 100 people who sign up. As of today the following have signed up (69) to attend you will note that some have not signed up for a seatingor indicated if they will use the bus.Attend First Second Last Bus

OTHER ASA GROUP REUNIONS
Around ASA
ASA ANNUAL PICNIC- Plans are now firmed up for Saturday 2 August, Blobs Park has closed and the event has been moved to the Ft Meade Club. Special arrangements are being made for those who don?t have a military ID for entrance to the post. This is the same general area where Blobs Park was. Last year it was a roaring success with about 200 people in attendance. Harry Dykes will again co host with Jim Allis?s son, who has worked on these for several years with his father. A great buffet is planned at a reasonable price. This annual affair is sponsored by the ASA Capital Area Alumni Association which also sponsors mixers in the spring and fall. If you are not on their mailing list and wish to be added contact Len Fischer, at PO Box 234, Occoquan, VA 22125-0234, of course a small contribution to the mail fund is always welcome. We will keep those on e-mail updated as plans are firmed up and of course our next newsletter will have the final plans.
There are numerous other unit oriented reunions which can be found listed on the NASA (National ASA Association) site at http://nasaa-home.org/Check them out they have a great site. If you are not up on the web and have a particular unit you are interested in contact Roy Gettz 321-259-7039.
For those of you on the inter-net Burt Slesinger maintains a list of ASA e-mail addresses which he periodically updates to all listed. His listing also contains a lot of newsy information about ASA activities and personnel. To get on his list send him your e-mail address with your ASA assignments his address is slesingerburt@spacey.net
