The Pack and Troop are sponsored by the Flushing Manor Parents' Association and the Camp Conron Foundation. The sponsoring organizations were formed in 1940 for the sole purpose of sponsoring the Scouts. The Foundation is made up of Parents of active members of the Pack and Troop, as well as past Scouts, and their Parents, who have dedicated themselves to the ideals of Scouting. It is not uncommon for members to remain active for 20 or more years after they or their sons have completed their Scouting days. Mr. James Conron, the Troop's Founder, served for 59 years (until his resent Death) and was the driving force insuring that the Scouting Program provides a meaningful experience for the boys. Any Scouting Program needs volunteers to operate. As sponsors of the Pack and Troop they provide the needed support to enhance the Scouting Programs.
