THANK YOU FOR VISITING MY WEBSITE !
over 183,000 visitors since conception April 2, 1999

****In the event that my hard drive ever fails, all of my website information is stored on it and would be lost. AOL no longer provides the software I use on it's updated versions, so this website would have to be re-created and would have a different address. If you visit here and do not see an update that has occurred within 7 days, my HD may have failed and a new site and site address will have to be created. If you feel that has happened....contact me at Conroy07@aol.com for inquiries as to the new website address, or go to the t-shirt page listed below. That site should have a notice posted as to what has happened. This message was published "JUST IN CASE"......more or less, an insurance clause!
_________________________________________________

Welcome to my website!! My name is Walt Conroy. I am 44 years old, I am a Full-time Police Officer/Firefighter/EMT in a suburb of Dayton, Ohio for the past 22 years, 6 months and 3 days to be exact - (3 years, 9 months 21 and days to go 'til the Big R - (Retirement). I started off as a Patrolman, was Promoted to the rank of Lt. in 1994, was am being promoted to Captain, Sept. 16, 2002. Our Department, the Oakwood Public Safety Dept., is the 2nd oldest combined dept. in the U.S.A., doing all three jobs at one time. Our car is being released by Gearbox in late Sept. 2002. I will have all 500 Premiers to sell.

I collect Road Champs like there is no tomorrow. I began simply as a collector then soon found that I had over 5000 cars in my house. Because of that, I started a website on April 2, 1999, to try to sell off my extras. Things have progressed to the point where I am now supplying other collectors with all the new cars and am always willing to take on more collectors to supply. I buy all new issues including premiers. I sometimes buy out collectors who have extras or are calling it quits or take on their collections to sell on a consignment basis. (I charge 15%). As you scroll through my pages, feel free to contact me if you see anything of interest, want to buy a car or just have a question. If you want to be supplied by me for any of the cars that are yet to come out, just let me know. I have had sales to over 3712 different collectors and can supply tons of references to anyone new that would like to become a customer.

There are many more web pages linked from this page. One is my Inventory page where you can find all of the cars that I have for sale. Another page was set up to show off the Centerville (OH) PD Premier car that I played a part in getting issued. Another page is links to other related websites. Scroll below to link to them all.

This page is set up with a news section that tells you all about incoming cars, regular issues, and premiers. I announce any die-cast related news. I focus on Road Champs, but also post some news on the Classic Metal Works, Johnny Lightning, White Rose and Code 3 line of cars. I post arrivals of all of the cars that I carry for sale. I had been featuring a Collector Of The Week Article which highlighted one collector each week. This feature ran 84 weeks. It was replaced by a Price Guide for all of the cars which has yet to be completed. It is being built week by week. Target completion date is the end of 2002. If you have any comments or ideas, please e-mail me.

9-14-02 FOR SALE: 1 Baltimore County Air Police White Rose Helicopter still new in the sealed box $25

9-14-02 I heard and was sent several rumors this week pertaining to Jakks Pacific and their closing down of the police product line. Viewing rumors the way I normally do, I went to the horses mouth and spoke to the company. Not too many companies will admit they are not doing well, are slowing down or going out of business, even if they are. In this case, Jakks Pacific does admit that Premier releases are on hold, but that all their cars scheduled to come out, will be released. They say that there is no truth to the rumors that I have heard (as I copied them on correspondences I received asking them to comment on them.) What I believe is this......I think that they are not managed very well, that they make 3000 of each car (down from 10,000 and later 5,000) and only sell about half of them in most cases. The rest sit in warehouses and then get sold off at deep discounts. The company has laid off many people in recent months and unfortunately got rid of some employees that knew kind of what was going on. I believe that the people still there want a successful product line, and are struggling to make it happen. I think the next 6 months will determine what happens with "OUR" police cars. There is no question that their product line has improved since 1998. We all need to hang in there and keep our fingers crossed that they revitalize the police line and their police line employees and management staff.
9-14-02 I will be posting approximately 100 open cars on the inventory page by Monday night. Have them in hand, have to tag, price and number them.....and...i bought a small 20 car set today and will have it later in the week for sale. Mostly 99s and up.
9-14-02 Three London (England) PD cars - 1:43 scale, new in their original boxes $6 each.
9-7-02 Three new customs on John Hall and Jeff May's website...Columbus Freeway Patrol, Gahana..and coming in a week ...London, OH. Email Jeff at May43123@aol.com or John at HA9129@aol.com They are all $20 shipped
9-7-02 Three day special....tell me if you want one..or how many you want by Monday night.....Fort Lee, NJ Chevy Premier (no, this isn't new)...$10 each. or buy in bulk.....10 for $90 ($9 each) , 20 for $160 ($8 each).
9-7-02 If anyone missed the Franklin Twsp car..I have the web address for their PD's store..where you can get one shipped to you for $10.95
9-7-02 Not much happening here at Road Champ Central Command. With the new cars still 3 weeks away (refer to the Cluster message below), there has not been much news. The Oakwood Gearbox car could be in at anytime this month. Nothing on the near horizon for premiers ready to be released. Evers Toy store sent out a message that they are looking for departments or individuals that want to do their agencies' car through them and Specast? which is the 1:64 scale cars they have been selling for about 8 months. 500 cars is the minimum and at a price of only $3.50 per car, it seems very do-able!!! They actually have to order 1000 of any car, but will buy 500 for themselves, and the other 500 get purchased by the issuing agency or individual. I don't own any so I don't know the quality of the car. On another completely unrelated topic.....(nothing at all to do with diecast cars..so stop reading here if you don't care........)....for you you East Coast collectors..that may be familar with or shop at ACME Grocery stores....that scratch off game they ran all summer with the grand prize being a 2003 Saturn Vue SUV.......pay attention to the winner if you happen to see a picture posted anywhere.....she is the mother of the C.R.A.M. webmaster....Joan Conroy...who scratched off the winning ticket the last day of the contest and was an instant winner!!!!! She has deserved a break in life and finally got one at age 68. She received it yesterday on her birthday in South Jersey. You go girl!!!!!!
8-31-02 The MOTHER of all CLUSTERS has taken place. As of Friday's conversation with Jakks Pacific, there is new news on the latest 4 cars (NY State, Torrington, Illiopolis and Vancouver). Supposedly the sales rep. has been looking at outdated inventory software that was showing this set in U.S. customs. Actually, the group he was looking at in customs was the last set to arrive in mid-July, and the software hadn't been updated to show that group had been delivered. In the meantime, the latest 4 cars that we are waiting for, just shipped out of Hong Kong on August 30th. He told me that shipping time is now 2-3 weeks, custom clearance time is another 3-4 days, so we are now looking at the end of the month (Sept) for their arrival. The next 4 cars after that were scheduled for a Sept 2nd shipment from Hong Kong and they aren't sure if that means that they are pushed back, or possibly that all 8 are on the same boat. (Coquille Indian Tribe, Eagle County S.O., Cape Carteret, George Mason U.) As usual, we will find out when things arrive and probably no sooner as they "HAVEN'T A CLUE" (Someone with some common sense, please go to California and take over this operation)
8-31-02 Since no new cars have come in and are not due now for several weeks, I hearby announce the following SALE to move some inventory while in the waiting process:
Rhode Island Impala 2-packs - $8
Any open car on my inventory page - $1 off
Any pre-1998 car - 10% off
Any 1998 car or newer - 8% off
Premiers - 5-10% off depending on the model you need
Mix and match vintage cars - cases of 12 - $20
Sale is effective through September 10th
8-31-02 THANKS to everyone that e-mailed or sent cards congratulating me on my promotion. I didn't post it for that reason, but appreciate all the responses!!
8-27-02 The Wappinger Falls cars are re-stocked as of today. If you have been waiting patiently...wait no more. They are in...your order is packed...it ships out tomorrow (Wed. a.m.)
8-27-02 I was notified that I am being promoted to Captain effective September 16th. Five cents off all cars that day in celebration/mourning (depending on the long term outcome)
8-25-02 LARGE - G.I. Joe - Harley Glider Motorcycles...for sale...I only have access to a couple...go to this link..take a look..if you want one...contact me quickly...i don't anticpate having these more than 1-2 days.. http://hometown.aol.com/conroy07/gijoe.html
8-24-02 FINALLY - there is an OAKWOOD GEARBOX website link. It's a very plain site, but there are some photos published. The camera I used doesn't show great detail....but..you wil get the picture. The link is http://hometown.aol.com/conroy07/gearbox.html
If you have been waiting to see what the car looks like priior to making your decision to buy, take a look! I will post a photo of the real Oakwood PD cruiser used on the street later this week.
8-24-02 All open cars, (out of the blister packs) not paid for by September 15, will be re-sold. I am moving my operations out of my present location, and when this happens, inventory will occur and anything unsold/unclaimed, goes back into general circulation available for anyone to buy.
8-22-02 As of noon today, all 4 new cars are still in customs. I have read several news stories related to the tightening of security as it relates to 911 and all import containers coming into our country. This must be the cause of the delay in getting them into Jakks Warehouse. I call every other day to check on their status. As soon as they are out of customs, I will have them 7 days from then.
8-22-02 As of today, I am re-stocked on all previously issued cars from the past 8 months ...(EXCEPT for Wappinger Falls- due in Monday..and of course ..the Franklin Twsp car - read below). Any pending orders that need anything other than Wappinger...will be filled and mailed by Saturday. Orders needing Wappinger...go out Mon-Tus as soon as they arrive.
8-22-02 A Franklin Twsp. Det. wrote and cleared up the myths surrounding their agency's car and the quick sellout. They do have some cars left and I will post their website on my links page soon!
8-22-02 I PROMISE to have photos of the Oakwood Gearbox car and packaging posted on a website by mid week. I will write a new page and link it from here. PROMISE - PROMISE - PROMISE!
8-22-02 The Captain's promotional exam is over...decision time. They delayed an announcement for a couple days as they wanted to re-interview some of the candidates (not me - not sure if that is good or bad) I will post it even if I am passed over..I am not too proud to announce a defeat!
8-18-02 Last night, at a steak fry pool party in Kettering, OH...the small world syndrome struck. Sitting at my table, and introduced to me...was a Springfield , OH police Officer....Keith McConnell. I knew I had heard the name but had no idea that Cases by Keith, was an operation ran by Keith McConnell in nearby Springfield (about 45 miles away). Anyway, lots of Road Champ talk took place..and I want to get to know Keith and his product as his cases sound well made, interesting, different ...and if personality is any indication of his business ethic....I don't see how you could go wrong buying any of his car cases (available in all shapes and sizes). I am sure many of you have bought from him already, but for those who haven't, check him out. I will be linking his website as soon as he supplies me with the address. In the meantime, KMcConnell@woh.rr.com for info. Keith said that in five years of making/selling car cases, he has only received 1 complaint. Hell, I get one a month about shipping the wrong cars to the wrong customers...(as some of you know)
8-18-02 Whoops, I goofed! I placed 2 orders in the past 7 days to replace all cars (about 16 different cars) I was low on or almost out of. Thinking that I included Wappinger Falls, (as all 120 are long gone!) I have told several people that this car was on the way and their pending orders that included this car would be out this week. Well....in checking what I ordered and have so far received, I skipped Wappinger Falls. So....I will re-order those tomorrow (Monday) and should have them the following Monday August 26th. If you have an order in that includes this car, please be patient and excuse my mistake.
8-18-02 I have had one Johnny Lightning Guyabo Puerto Rico car left for a month now. Please.....someone buy it...Five Smackers!
8-18-02 I ran out of Mt. Olive, NJ Premiers, but have ordered another dozen. Should have them back in stock later this week. If you need one, 12 are going to be available at $16.50
8-14-02 Here is a list of the customs offered by John Hall and Jeff Mays...link to their site below..or from my LINKS Page. Customs now available: Columbus (OH) , Franklin County S.O.(OH), Grandview Heights (OH), Grove City (OH), Grove Port (OH), Madison Twsp (OH), Whitehall (OH), Valleyview (OH), Gahana (OH) and Memphis (TN). John sent me a Memphis car this week....it had their latest, brightest graphics. He sent me an Impala and it looks great!! Check them out, they sell them individually for $20 shipped.
8-14-02
Couple of new links added to my LINKS page..check them out.
8-14-02 As of yesterday....all FOUR new cars were still in customs on the West Coast. I did verify that there were 4 cars, that all 4 made the trip. I will check periodically to try and calculate their arrival at C.R.A.M.
8-14-02 Thanks for the great response to my "make me an offer" sale. I had to refuse a couple offers and explain that I wasn't liquidating....just trying to clear out some older stuff by reducing my profit margin, not eat into what I paid for them. Thanks to everyone that helped me clean up a bit.
8-14-02 The RCMP Mustang Premier is delayed as North West Police Products is not having a great deal of luck wrapping up this deal with Road Champs. Can't imagine why!!
8-14-02 SIX people never paid for their Pennsylvania State Patrol Motorcycles. It's been well over a month since they arrived, so they are up for grabs. First 6 to ask get them at $21 each.
8-14-02 AND LAST......I am thinking about another run of C.R.A.M T-shirts. If you think you want one, let me know. Based on the interest level, I may have them made again. The original 50 sold in a few days and I think everyone liked them. My family on the East Coast saw one this summer and was upset that I hadn't sent any home. I didn't make any for my kids etc..as they see my cars all the time and I realy didn't think they would have an interest in wearing one. Apparently I was wrong. So, E-mail me if you want one..and if enough justify a start-up in production, I will post the news about sizes, pricing, etc.
8-8-02 On Monday, I broke through to Road Champs....some restocking orders have finally been placed. Also, the newest cars are supposed to be in customs. My contact says 1-2 weeks for them to now clear, then shiped to me, so it will be near the end of the month when they arrive at C.R.A.M. Still not sure if 3 arrived, or all 4 as scheduled. (and the sales contact didnt know either!)
8-8-02 Gearbox made a 3rd prototype for the Oakwood PD car. It's been received, complete with packaging. I will be taking a photo of the finished-approved car and posting it on on eof my pages within a few days. Even the box is cool!
8-8-02 This weekend.....from Friday night to Sunday night...pick out what you want....anything that has been issued at least 6 months ago...make me an offer. Trying to free up space for the newer stuff and trying to clear out some of the old. Not guaranteeing that I will take all offers,.....but at least I will entertain them and if unacceptable, will make counteroffers on anything too low to part with.
8-8-02 Mario Maipid, at CQDEKB4SAD@aol.com has 2 RCMP chevys with red glass, in the blister packs, at $50 each. Contact him direct if you want one.
8-8-02 I will be selling off 150 extra cars all in blister packs sometime in the next 10 days. These belong to a collector in Kettering that wants to rid himself of all the extras he has been buying out of a bad habit!!
8-2-02 Sorry for the lack of news this week!Kind of busy on many fronts...but I didn't forget you guys and girls.
8-2-02 Inever reported on this...but the 2nd Oakwood PD Gearbox Prototype was received as scheduled about 15? days ago. To make a long story short, some of what they did on prototype #1 and #2 was approved and will be combined into a finished and now approved product. Gearbox has the 500 cars underway and expects that I should still have them early in September. Stay Tuned!!
8-2-02 Got some info this week that I was hoping to turn out false. I was told that Jakks Pacific has laid off a bunch of people and that "our" line of cars may be in trouble. After not being able to reach my newest contact (Tina Laskey..who was Pam Carpenter's replacement)...I called Jack McGrath, the VP. Jack confirmed that there have been a number of people let go (I had heard 40..he didnt give a number) Tina is gone, so I am now working with another new person but was reassured that he wil take care of us. On the rumor about the police line of cars...Jack said that the police line has not been doing very well, but that there are still new cars scheduled and he hopes to revive the line and is trying to hire someone new to revitalize the business. If only I were in CA and was looking for a job...........(I hope he is successful in his venture so that our hobby continues to flourish)
8-2-02 BOUNCED CHECKS....please......if you think your check is not going to clear when you send it......wait.....and send it when you have enough to cover what you are spending. AND/OR..if you anticipate this happening.....just alert me to it..so that I am not surprised when the notice from the bank appears at my house. A simple e-mail or phone call avoids a lot of heartache. THANKS!
8-2-02 POSTAGE - thanks to all of you for working with me on the new postage rates. Everyone is doing a good job in sending the right amount!!!
8-2-02 The new cars show on paper that they were due into Jakks today. I called and asked my new rep...and await his return call or email answer as to their status.
8-2-02 Still have about 15 of each of the last 4 cars to arrive ( the Hillsboro TX group)....plus about a dozen of each of all the cars that arrived in the last year minus Franklin Twsp. Still have 10 St. Matts premiers too!
8-2-02 Quick personal note...the Captains assessment test went well....round 2 is this week...the appointment will be made by August 15th.
7-27-02 Scheduled for release on August 2nd...New York State, Vancouver, WA??, Torrington, CT and Illiopolis, IL The last time Road Champs answered one of my e-mail/phone mesages was to say that 3 of these are supposed to be on time, the Illiopolis may be delayed. Let me bug them some more for a definite answer which I will post immediately upon getting it.
7-27-02 Fifteen Greensboro Premiers left and they are gobe forever..at least through me..$17.25 each plus shipping or get one shipped with another order to save on shipping.
7-27-02 SPECIALS - Pick any 10 for $25 plus shipping....10 Arkansas 98s- great for stripping - 10 Colorado 98s, 10 North Carolina 98s. Only 1 set of each to sell.
7-27-02 This must be link and website announcement week....Rick Miller asked me to post his link...www.mprick.com Rick has thousands of PD and other patches to sell and trade.
7-27-02 Dave Lawicki asked me to post this site...www.us-pins.com/auburnpd and www.us-pins.com/store/badddawgs
Dave's police association is selling lapel pin badges as a fundraiser and asks everyone to take a look.
7-27-02 Another collector from another state went out of his way to stop and meet me on the way through Ohio. Thanks Dan Monroe (wife and kids) who went out of their way to do this. I invite any and all to do this if passing through Ohio or in particular, the Dayton area!! Thanks Dan!!
7-27-02 On a personal note..On Wednesday, I am going through a promotional exercise-interview process as the first step for a Captain's position open within our department. If I get the job, I can drop prices .01 cent per car due to the raise involved. On the downside, due to the hours I would have to work, I will have much less time to fill orders....but the penny savings could add up if I ever get to where I am selling MILLIONS of cars!! Don't write and wish me luck as I am having mixed feelings on this..so..whatever happens...happens.
7-23-02 WWW.POLICECRUISERUSA.COM The website is open for business. John Hall and Jeff May of Columbus, Ohio have joined forces and have launched their site. They site opens with 8 custom cars all from Ohio with many more planned. They are also looking for some business outside of the area in making customs for your department. Visit the site, look at what they have to offer. Many of you have purchased cars through me made by John and know the quality of his customs. All customs are $20 including shipping. Please visit and if you are a custom buyer, frequent their business! If you need more info, e-mail them at the addresses provided on their main page.
7-23-02 Of the 120 of each of the new cars that came in July 12th, (Wappinger Falls, Hillsboro, Prairie Village and East Hartford) I have less than 30 left of each. If you need these cars, I urge you to make your purchase soon. Thanks.
7-23-02 I have a call into Jakks asking when the Aug. 2nd cars are due in. Last update said that only 3 of the 4 may arrive on time, I will post an update on an arrival date as soon as they answer me.
7-23-02 The revised Oakwood PD Gearbox prototype (#2) was fedexed to me and will arrive tomorrow. With approval, the 500 will be ready in 6-8 weeks.
7-23-02 There is a badge, patch and car show planned for August 10th in Florence, KY in their gov't center. If you need more details, contact me for a contact for times, table cost and other info.
7-21-02 I am back..and C.R.A.M. has re-opened. I was in Myrtle Beach S.C. for a week. I have 402 e-mails and 30 plus orders to fill upon walking in the door so PLEASE be patient with me. I have intentions on mailing out all orders Monday morning. Saw many RC cars on the road while on vacation.....KY State Patrol, VA State Patrol, NC State Patrol, SC State Patrol, TN State Patrol and W. VA State Patrol. Even several unmarked SC Camaros and 1 SC State Motorcycle. None up close which is how I prefer it.

7-21-02 If I sent out a package of cars to you before I left on vacation, and sent them to you ahead of payment, please email me and identify yourself as I am not sure I made good notes on all those that I did this with. I don't want to send out repeat orders for something that you already received and are now just paying for. THANKS!!
7-11-02 Reminder - Wappinger Falls, Prarie Village, Hillsboro (Hullsboro was a typo on my part) and East Hartford came in July 8th.

7-8-02 DON'T ASK HOW.....BUT...the 4 newest cars arrived today. In are: East Hartford, CT and Prairie Village, KS and Wappinnger Falls, NY and Hullsboro, TX. I was just told last week that these were 5-6 weeks away and lo and behold, they arrived today?? Please check the postage website (listed right above) for the correct shipping amount to send for these 4 new cars (the cars themself are $26 plus postage) Here is the delivery catch....I am gone after noon this Friday the 12th. If you can get payment to me by then via Paypal or regular mail, they will ship out this week. If not, please send it anyway and I will pack and mail them on my return July 21st. THANKS!

7-3-02 Watch for a new custom partnership..coming soon. John Hall is about to team up with Jeff Mays of Columbus. They are about to launch a new website that will open up with about 10 jurisdictions in the Columbus, OH area. They hope to open the site this monthafter getting a decent supply of cars made. John's excellent cars and Jeff's website and enthusiam will combine these two guys into becoming lead players in the custom business. Stay tuned!
7-3-02 The 2nd winning number (drawn on Tuesday from the Ohio Pick 3 Lottery) is #288. If you have it on your postage label, contact me. One more winning number to be drawn.
7-3-02 Jeff Tripp is winner #1 ..he identified himself as having postage label 486.
7-3-02 I talked to Jakks yesterday and asked when I should expect the July 2nd cars. Ready for this answer....in Mid August. It seems that the July 2nd ship date...translated into the date they ship out of Hong Kong. The boat takes a month, then customs, then to me. So, if you were about to send $ for the next 4 cars, hold off a little while.

COLLECTOR OF THE WEEK..a feature that was added Feb. 14th, 1999. One collector every week of the year gets a little biography written about them, their collection and a few added comments are thrown in to make it more interesting. Scroll down to see who is currently featured! Also, there is a list showing who will be highlighted the next several weeks. If you are to be featured, I need your help....send me an e-mail with a life summary. One page or less is preferred. ANYONE can be featured, it doesn't matter who you are or if you only own 1 car!

THIS FEATURED HAS TEMPORARILY ENDED ON NOVEMBER 12, 2000 DUE TO THE UNAVAILABILITY OF COLLECTORS THAT HAVE VOLUNTEERED TO BE FEATURED. THIS FEATURE WILL CONTINUE ONCE SEVERAL PEOPLE STEP UP!

PRICE GUIDE

NEW FEATURE beginning 11-18-00
This comes after many requests. Lots of collectors ask about the values of the cars we collect. the one price guide that I am aware of is out of date. Starting today, I will alphabetically post One State, City and Premier car each week, with a high and low value range next to each car. This is meant to be a guide only to be used for a reference collectors to use when they are buying or re-selling cars. If you disagree with a posted value range, e-mail me and tell me what information you have and I will adjust the range is it's justified.
