Elven Items of
the Flanaess![]()

The Elves of the Flanaess produce many things often overlooked, especially hand crafts. Elves are not known blacksmiths, unlike the dwarves, but they still craft items of metal and any other materials at hand. Each Elven item is a unique item of exceptional quality.
It is also notable that the items usually are made available on the 30th of every month in Greyhawk and at that time, these are put on the auction block at the minimal price: five statuettes, seven purses, six tunics, twelve necklaces, and two orders for a ring. These are obviously considerable treasures, so they shouldn't be gotten with ease. An order for a ring takes two full months to complete and is often upwards of fifty gold pieces.
Terik Tribe
Statuettes
One thing the elves have in abundance is wood. The Terik tribe is particularly known for
its 7" statuettes, 6" statues with a 1" square base. Terik statuettes are
always of an elf, usually one the maker knows. They are lovingly hand-carved in a graceful
rounded style by an elven craftsman. Each statuette is unique, even if of the same elf.
Most statuettes take more than a month to carve. They sell on the open market for upwards
of 5 gold each, with some craftsmen fetching prices upwards of 20 or 30 gold for a
statuette.
Purses
The Terik tribe is one of hunters, so leather is the standard for the tribe.
Since they knowingly need to export items and do not carry purses themselves, Terik purses
are specifically made for outsiders. They begin, as purses do, as simple leather sewn
together and inverted. Then, the elf uses a short metal took with a tiny point and no
edges to carve a design in the leather. It is then dyed. Then, in a part made to be
collapsible (in a method similar to other purses), a silver chain is used as the
pursestring. It is noteworthy that Terik purses are never stolen, and they fetch a hefty
sum.
Clothes
Teriks wear leather breeches and soft leather boots, but their pride is
their fine linen tunics. Each house of the Teriks has a particular pattern in red or
yellow that is embroidered onto a green tunic. These are never sold. Rather, the ones
exported to the outside world are blue. While a Terik pattern is familiar along the lines
of a coat of arms, the exported ones are made for fashion. Each has a unique pattern and
has a different price (dependent upon the designer and the desirability of a certain
pattern) ranging from 2 to 10 times the normal cost for a tunic.
Jewelry
Teriks can get a hold of silver with relative ease, and their jewelry is
made thus. Preferable are necklaces with small jewels embedded and rings. Terik necklaces
are made with leaf-shaped chain links and have a black pearl or emerald on a backing in
the center. The true wonder they make is the rings, which are usually round and wide (in
the sense that they take up room on the finger, not being large on the wearer), fitting a
finger perfectly. Each ring is unique and considered a signet ring. The buyer's size must
be measured and certain characteristics described. The elf who creates the ring makes it
according to the personality of the buyer. A Terik ring found is only 10% likely to fit
the finder due to the specific make.
