What our Services have to offer.

The foundation for our Tutoring Service is to provide assistance on a one-on-one basis; however, it doesn't stop there. FictionWriters will offer much more than that.

As our services expand, there will be online classes, chat rooms for Tutorial Students to visit, plus a scheduled bi-weekly chance to meet online with the Head Honcho, or one of his Staff should he be out fishing or doing something more athletic. Just joking.

In the near future, there will be a four-week group course available to fine-tune your writing skills with other students present for spin-off input and digestion. This will not be a 'chat room' environment, but a learning experience.

    One-on-One Tutoring . . .

Our one-on-one tutoring will offer each student the chance to submit up to three-thousand (3,000) words for scrutiny. It may be a short story, a part of a novelette, or a full-length novel. The feedback will be through direct comments and 'red-pencil' editing to a portion of your submission. The technique will be in working on the first part of your script and then having you apply what we suggest to a different portion of your work. Don't worry. You'll have enough explanations, regarding structural and grammatical input, that it should be easy to learn and follow.

You will also be informed of both the strengths and weaknesses of your efforts. It will be our assignment to assist you in these areas. But, we will let you know the reasons why we are making the comments and criticisms we make. Most of it has to do with a bunch of 'Do's' and 'Don'ts' in fiction writing, plus grammatical flaws.

Writing fiction allows our fantasies to explode. As a new writer, you may be doing it just for fun and self-gratification, or you may be writing to have friends and relatives share your inner-experiences. Then, again, you may have the desire to become a real professional and get that 'first short story or novel' published. If you should fall in the latter category, our tutorial services should be a huge step forward towards that goal. But, that's not to say our assistance couldn't improve your abilities for the more personal reasons for writing.

To be a bit more precise regarding our methods, the following is a breakdown of our system:

    • The first step, after enrolling, will be to receive a special 'password' to gain access to your tutorial station.

    • You will receive instructions as to how to submit your script, and a series of tests may be necessary to ascertain your computer and word processing capabilities so as to correspond using bolding and color techniques employed in our system. Believe me, our methods are quite like receiving an old-fashion 'red-penciled' edit of your script; easy to follow--easy to understand.

    • You will be asked to submit your chosen script to our personal tutorial location for individual critiquing.

    • You will receive an initial overall critique on your submission.

    • You will then receive a concise critique of approximately the first one-third of your submission. This is done, as a first step, to bring both detailed positives and negatives to your attention.

    • You will be expected to review our corrections and instructional comments, then make revisions to the next one-third of your script in accordance with our suggestions.

    • You will then receive a critique on the second part of your script and repeat the process as above on the remainder.

    • After receiving the comments as mentioned above, you will be asked to rewrite your entire script for final submission and review.

Sound too hard? It really isn't. What's missing from the above is the ability for us to express the measure of help you'll receive to get you to the end.

    Other Outstanding Included Values . . .

    • An outstanding Manual covering all of the 'Do's and Don'ts' taught in our tutorials is included at no additional charge--an absolute value by itself.

    • An opportunity to learn the HTML language that was used to build this website. All designed by the Head Honcho, and available to you, along with a bunch of additional 'super- Links' to other 'page-building' online sites. Try building your own--it's not that hard, just time consuming.

    • As a student of our Tutorial Assistance Program, once you've established your own website, you will have the opportunity to add a 'Link' to your site within your 'Bio' located on our website.

    • Got 'Writer's Block?' A number of provided 'Links' are available to Free game show sites, Free Fantasy Sport games, and other interesting 'side-tracks' to get you back on the bandwagon. Don't stay too long, they can become addicting.

    • The opportunity to learn all about turning your story/novel into a Screenplay. The Head Honcho knows a great deal about this. Although the Manual mentioned above briefly covers this aspect as relates to novel writing, this gets into the 'nitty-gritty.' Be assured--once you've learned format demands, it's a lot easier to write a movie feature than writing a novel. Checkout our new FW Screenwriters Club. Why not Join Today. It's FREE!!!

It's up to you to decide. If you're tired of getting rejections and want to advance in your fiction writing skills, . . . dig in. You won't regret it.

Also remember that our website is new and in its infancy. There will be much more added to enhance our services in the near future. Don't miss out.
