SPECIAL NEEDS DOG: VISION IMPAIRED. MUST HAVE STAY-AT-HOME ADULT HUMAN(S) and FENCED YARD I am called Merit and I am a 3 year old, lively, sweet, well-mannered boy and I want my very own forever family. If you are ready to make a lifetime commitment and want a great little fur boy in your family, maybe I am the boy for you and you are the human for me. Wags to that! I m a quiet boy. In fact, my foster family is wondering if I can bark. Shhh - do not tell them but I love my foster family and life is so much better for me since I am with them that I am on my very best behavior. I have demonstrated that I am a good watch dog and will sound an alert but will be quiet when asked to do so. I would do best in an all-adult, quiet home as I need to be the center of attention - I deserve the respect and love of a forever family. I am up-to-date on vaccinations, on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and I am already neutered. I am being evaluated right now and my foster family is giving me all thumbs up since I am house trained and crate trained so that I can travel safely. At the moment I am doing fine but I am totally blind in my right eye and have limited vision in my left eye. You would never guess it though - I am doing great! There is no means to correct the issue I have with my eyes and if I develop cataracts in my senior years, I will not be a candidate for surgery due to the existing issues. I am in no pain and get around just fine but whoever adopts me must realize I may have limitations at some point in my life. I am a good boy but really would appreciate it if you have lots of time to spend with me. I have not always had the best life and need someone who will truly respect and love me. I am affectionate and a good boy. How about it - are you ready to adopt a great little guy?
Sex: Male Age: 1 year Weight: 22 pounds Size: Small to Medium Availability: Immediate. Application Form:
I am Dannee and a cuter little boy you will never meet! I am a handsome 22 pounds and every pound of me is pure sweetness. I am house trained and working on crate training so that I may travel safely. I am a well mannered, quiet boy who really needs and deserves a loving forever family. I am current on my vaccinations and on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. I am a picky eater but I am learning to do better. I would prefer someone to stay home with me and enjoy a quiet home. A fenced yard would be very nice but I walk nicely on a leash and ride nicely in a car too. I love to curl up and sleep in your lap, give you kisses and lots of cuddle time. Can you handle all that love?
We have additional Keeshonden who will soon enter our program for evaluation. When they are ready for adoption, we will place their information on this page.

They cuddled me and smiled at me and said I was full of charm. They played with me and laughed with me and showered me with toys. I sure do love my family, especially the girls and boys. The children loved to feed me, they gave me special treats. They even let me sleep with them - all snuggled in the sheets. I used to go for walks, often several times a day. They even fought to hold the leash, I'm very proud to say. These are the things I'll not forget - a cherished memory. I now live in the shelter-without my family. They used to laugh and praise me when I played with that old shoe. But I didn't know the difference between the old ones and the new. The kids and I would grab a rag, for hours we would tug. So I thought I did the right thing when I chew the bedroom rug. They said that I was out of control, and would have to live outside. This I did not understand, although I tried and tried. The walks stopped, one by one; they said they hadn't time. I wish that I could change things, I wish I knew my crime. My life became so lonely, in the backyard, on a chain. I barked and barked all day long to keep from going insane. So they brought me to the shelter but were embarrassed to say why, They said I caused an allergy, and then they each kissed me goodbye. If I'd only had some classes, as a little pup. I wouldn't have been so hard to handle when I was all grown up. "You only have one day left." I heard the worker say. Does that mean I have a second chance? Do I go Home today? Sandi Thompson, we thank you for these very moving words.
