High Altitude Satellite Observing lists

High Altitude Satellite Observers Home Page

The following classes of satellite & rocket body have specific visibility characteristics (brightness, flash pattern, flash period). Some objects, such as Centaur rocket boosters, are generally bright easy objects to observe, where as others such as Molniya's or GPS satellites are often tricky & require some perserverance to be seen at all.

For each class of satellite, a list of all satellites in the series is provided along with general information orbital period, links to further information, reported brightness & flash period by visual observers.

The lists are currently under construction, so many of the links to lists are not yet active. check back from time to time for updates
