LUTOMIRSKI'S Family Crest |
LUTOMIRSKIs origin comes from a small Polish town called Chelmica Wielka (Great Helmet) in the Land of Dobrzyn. Lutomirskis family founders were known as heroic and valiant knights. In 1406, King of Poland and Lithuania, Vladislav Jagiello adjudicates City of Lutomiersk to Przedbor and his son Jan as a reward for bravery and fidelity during fights against Teutonic Knights for the Land of Dobrzyn . Stanislaus Lutomirski - famous theologian and later an Arian* teacher. Graduate of prestigious universities in Poland and abroad. In 1551 becomes a personal secretary to the King of Poland Sigismund August. In 1563 he becomes a superintendent of Kalvinistic denomination. He was a senior of the Kalvinistic Assembly in Pinczow. After the Synod that took place in Wilno, he calls together two other synods in Brzeziny and Wegrow in 1565. During Seym in Piotrkow he debates publicly on dogmas in the church. Jan Lutomirski - Treasurer of the Crown during reign of Zygmunt Stary (Sigismund the Elder). He coins and establishes safe deposits for the royal treasury. He performs currency reform in January of 1548. Lutomirski family loses their privileges, titles, properties and estates during counter-reformation, when a decree proclaiming banishment of all Polish Brothers (Arians) is issued in 1658. *) Arians - Christian followers of Arianism - theological school originated in the North African Church, based on the teachings of Arius (c. AD 250-336), considered heretical by Catholic Church and condemned by the first Council of Nicea in 325. |
My great-grandparents: Alexander Ingnatius Lutomirski with his wife Stefania Theodozia Pietkiewicz, and one of their children - Hieronim Alexander. Alexander was a sculptor. He was known for his incredible athletic strength. The myth says that he was able to straighten out a horseshoe with his bare hands. He died at a young age in 1929 becoming a victim of one of the terrible epidemics that were very common then in Europe. Stefania was left with six children, yet she managed to raise and educate all of them on her own. She died in 1963. |

He was serving for Czar's army and participated in the World War I. In 1917, when October Revolution begun, he was fighting against bolsheviks... barely got away with his life! Alexander was a very talented artist. |
"Nothing can make up for the absence of someone whom we love, and it would be wrong to try to find a substitute. (...) It is nonsense to say that God fills the gap; He does not fill it, but on the contrary, He keeps it empty and so helps us to keep alive our former communion with each other, even at the cost of pain."
- Dietrich Bonhoeffer

My father was born in January of 1925. He is an artist. He has a Master Degree in Arts. His paintings, and other artworks are very unique but yet kept in a conventional, realistic style. He is a veteran of World War II. During the war he was a member of underground army (AK), fighting against Nazis and bolsheviks.. My mother was born in January of 1937. She comes from a famous, noble, protestant family - LUTOMIRSKI. I am very proud of her because she is a wonderful lady. She taught me what is right and what is wrong. She showed me lots of love - and she accepts me today just the way I am. I love my Parents very much and I miss them incredibly, as they still live in my motherland. |
