Materials for each scarf
1 ball of LusterSheen (or other sport weight yarn)
Crochet hook size G (if you crochet loosely you might want to use a smaller
hook)
Gauge is not important. Add or subtract pattern stitch rows until the scarf is
the size you desire.
Pink Babushka
Starting at the bottom point of the scarf, ch 2
Row 1: (Sc, dc, sc) in the 2nd ch from hook; ch 1, turn. (3 sts)
Row 2: (Hdc, dc) in the first sc, sc in the next dc, (dc, hdc) in the last sc; ch
1, turn. (5 sts)
Row 3: (Hdc, dc) in the first hdc, (sc in each dc and dc in each sc) across,
(dc, hdc) in the last hdc; ch 1, turn. (7 sts)
Rows 4-35: Repeat row 3. There should be 71 stitches at the end of row 35 .
Do not ch 1, turn at the end of row 35.
Ties and edging: Ch 50, sl st in the 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across,
sc in each of the 71 sts on row 35, ch 50, sl st in the 2nd ch from hook and
in each ch across, sc evenly in the sides of the stitches until you reach the
bottom point, 3 sc in the bottom point, continue working sc evenly in the
sides of the stitches until you reach the base of the first tie; join with a sl st
to the base of the first tie. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
Yellow Babushka
Starting at the bottom point of the scarf, ch 2
Row 1: (Sc, ch 1, sc) in the 2nd ch from hook; ch 1, turn. (2 sc)
Row 2: Sc in the first sc, ch 1, sc in the ch-1 sp, ch 1, sc in the next sc; ch
1, turn. (3 sc)
Row 3: Sc in the first sc, ch 1, (sc in the next ch-1 sp, ch 1) 2 times, sc in
the last sc; ch 1, turn. (4 sc)
Row 4: Sc in the first sc, ch 1, (sc in the next ch-1 sp, ch 1) across, sc in
the last sc; ch 1, turn. (5 sc)
Rows 5-54: Repeat row 4. Each row should have one additional sc. You
should have 55 stitches at the end of row 54. Do not fasten off.
Ties and edging: Ch 50, sl st in the 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across,
sc in each of the 55 sts on row 54, ch 50, sl st in the 2nd ch from hook and
in each ch across, sc evenly in the sides of the stitches until you reach the
bottom point, 3 sc in the bottom point, continue working sc evenly in the
sides of the stitches until you reach the base of the first tie; join with a sl st
to the base of the first tie. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
Lilac Babushka
Starting at bottom point of the scarf, ch 4
Row 1: Work 4 dc in the 4th ch from hook; ch 1, turn.
Row 2: 2 sc in the first dc, sc in each dc across, 2 sc in the top of the
turning ch; ch 3, turn.
Row 3: Dc in the first sc, dc in each sc across to within last sc, 2 dc in the
last sc; ch 1, turn.
Rows 4-35: (Repeat rows 2-3) 16 times. You should have 73 dc at the end
of row 35. Do not fasten off.
Ties and edging: Ch 50, sl st in the 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across,
sc in each of the 73 sts on row 35, ch 50, sl st in the 2nd ch from hook and
in each ch across, sc evenly in the sides of the stitches until you reach the
bottom point, 3 sc in the bottom point, continue working sc evenly in the
sides of the stitches until you reach the base of the first tie; join with a sl st
to the base of the first tie. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
