Rub a dub dub! Wasn't I cute?

Simply me....Natalie

I came into this world on July 31, roaring like the little leo I was. I roamed the globe growing up, Pennsylvania, California, Maryland, Texas, Germany, and Russia before settling down here in sunny Florida. I came to the seasonal nursing mecca of the US to practice my nurturing magic!

Nurse Natalie

My calling.....

After years of searching for my niche, I finally stumbled across my natural talents while working with mentally retarded and mentally ill patients at a state school in Texas.

I put myself through school and in May of 1996 I graduated from Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas, and embarked on the most rewarding adventure of my life.......nursing!

And an adventure I made it to be! After getting the basics down at home, I decided to contract myself out to a travel nursing company. It was the best thing I've ever done. Ifell in love with Florida, when I was assigned there reluctanly in February of 1998. I spent 3 months relaxing and focusing on the finer things in life. I returned to Texas for a 5 month stint in San Antonio on a very busy neurosurgical unit, just long enough to see my sister get married. I returned to Florida in October 1998, to the Tampa Bay area, and this is where I've hung up my travelling shoes (at least for a while!)

The kids

Casey and Mandy

My travelling companions and babies!

I picked Casey, the black fuzzy puss, out at the humane society in Lubbock, Texas. She was very feisty and quite the mouser when she was a kitten. She's been travelling around with me for the past 7 years. Now we have lizards, and she's still spry enough to grind one up from time to time!

Mandy's my pretty girl, a lilac point siamese, that I actually bought for mom one year, but she's a snob and only tolerated my presence, so I ended up keeping her, or should I say, she ended up keeping me. She's my "drag queen" kitty...she has the attitude that she is here for decoration only, admire her, and compliment her, but don't think about messing up her furr. She'll scream at you for sure! (And try to slice you to bits with those carefully sharpened claws of hers!) She's been that way since she was born, I'm thinking that since she's not outgrown it in the last 4 years, it's not going to happen. She's pretty. We'll leave it at that!

Sunrise, Florida style, to accompany one of my own

Dreamland

Come, sweet sister,
With your melancholy smile,
To a heavenly place
Where hearts run wild.

We can dance on the water,
Chase rainbows in the sun,
Weave flowers through our hair,
Or lie peacefully on moonlit fields.

This is a place where love is queen,
Where happiness governs the land.
Not a soul is lonely, tired, nor poor.
Everyone is beautiful, thier depths be known.

But what of this place?
I thought you'd never ask!
Just close your eyes
My sweet, innocent one...

Let go of reality...
Drift off to sleep...
Allow your mind to wander..
You know the way....

Only in your dreams
Is there such a wonderful place.
